Welcome!

Hello, Pig de Wig, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  Robdurbar 16:51, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal[edit]

Please do not remove sections of articles as you did in Deaths in 2006. It is considered vandalism and will get you blocked from editing. Thank You. Weatherman90 02:49, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Attention[edit]

Yet again:

  • Please pick one name. You have many to choose from; I'll even unblock any of your choice if you ask.
  • Don't move articles by cutting and pasting text from the old name to the new one. There's a link that says "Move." (It may not be available to new accounts; I forget at the moment.) Use *that*. It preserves the edit history, and makes things easier for other editors.
  • Describe your changes in the box that says "Edit summary."
  • Press "Preview" and check your edits before pressing "Submit."
  • And, since you're reluctant to leave messages on talk pages, just delete this line if you actually read this message.

Please stop[edit]

Greetings,

Please read and understand how to move a page before again attempting anything like what you tried to do with Shakey's Pizza.

Date links[edit]

This is regarding the article E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Please note that according to Wikipedia's guidelinies regarding date formatting, "simple months, years, decades and centuries should only be linked if there is a strong reason for doing so." These should only be linked if they're part of a full date with day & month, as in December 28 2005. If they occure alone, just December or just 2005 or just December 2005, they shouldn't be linked. --Fritz S. (Talk) 21:21, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:DiscoveryZone.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DiscoveryZone.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. tregoweth 03:58, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you get an image from a website, you cannot tag it with {{PD-self}}[1], because you did not create it. tregoweth 05:07, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Will (E@) T 18:58, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Date formatting[edit]

You don't have to change dates formatted like "25 January" to "January 25". If they are wikified, they will automatically be shown in whatever format each user sets in their Preferences. Watch:

Orphaned non-free image (Image:DannyPhantom.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DannyPhantom.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:01, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Geoffrey_Giraffe.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Geoffrey_Giraffe.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 22:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Buster Brown and Tige.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Buster Brown and Tige.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

Sega Mobile listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Sega Mobile. Since you had some involvement with the Sega Mobile redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 00:39, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
