A tag has been placed on Pirhounix requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 20:55, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Gauge (person)[edit]

Hello Pirhounix. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Gauge (person), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. Salvio Let's talk about it! 15:38, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed... and it'd probably survive a regular AFD under WP:ANYBIO grounds as well. Tabercil (talk) 15:50, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete declined[edit]

The speedy delete template you applied to Dawn Steele was unwarranted and a misuse of speedy delete. The article did not meet any of the criteria for speedy deletion. You would have served wikipedia better by spending a few minutes seeking valid references and adding them yourself. In half an hour I was able to find many supporting references to improve the article. Please be more circumspect about adding a speedy delete to any article and study the usual criteria required. Thank you. 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 20:54, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

according to Wikirules "This article and talk page must adhere to the policy on biographies of living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately, especially if potentially libellous." With that the article is about a living person and contains no sources of any verifiable content.

So what exactly was there that was in any way contentious or libelous? 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 00:03, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The rules say IF, not and. If the rules stated, if the article contains contentious or libelous information then it should be removed. It states that it The article contains no reliably sourced information, and according to the rules is not a misuse of the speedy delete tag, and the page should be removed.

Umm – where does it say If in the guideline sentence you quoted above? You asked the question here [[1]] and were told ”Yes, provided it was created after March 18, 2010 … ” – but the Dawn Steele page was created five years earlier in 2005 and therefore was not eligible for deletion – but you went ahead and flagged it anyway. Further you were also guided to read this page and this one for the relevant guidelines. The first guideline states "If you see a biography about a living person without references, you are strongly encouraged to either source or remove any contentious material and look for reliable sources that support the remainder of the biography's content. Nevertheless, a nomination may also be used to involve the article creator or to ensure that a problematic entry is being attended to more swiftly than by tagging it with {{BLP unsourced}}."
Not only did you not start an 'Article for Deletion' discussion for the article, you flagged it specifically for speedy deletion, although not a single criteria for SD was met (see Criteria at [[2]]). Additionally by its content and stability for six years the Dawn Steele article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7.
Could I respectfully suggest that, until you fully understand the guidelines involved, you refrain from nominating articles for deletion – or seek guidance from an administrator beforehand – and limit yourself to making other useful additions to articles that interest you. If you cannot find an administrator please feel free to ask me at my talk page and I will be happy to cast my eyes over the article that concerns you. 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 10:50, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for my oversight[edit]

You have just corrected me in reverting some vandalism on Blake Lively. I wanted to remove the silly remarks, and by oversight reinserted them. --Hans Dunkelberg (talk) 15:13, 12 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for March 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Isidra Vega, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dirty Deeds. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Brandi Cyrus[edit]

I've moved your page to Draft:Brandi Cyrus. At the moment her notability guidelines rests on membership of a band that doesn't have a Wikipedia article or a reference, and claimed appearances without references. The only independent verifiable source is for her family relationships, but being related to famous people doesn't make her notable. The article was deleted via a deletion discussion some years ago, so the onus is on you to show that she now meets the notability criteria. The article name is protected, so you when you are finished, let me know and I'll have a look Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:59, 21 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What about her notability for the TV show Cyrus and Cyrus? And Why is it that her page is good enough for Wikipedia in other languages but not english? --Pirhounix 10:04, 21 August 2017 (UTC)
If you want me to see your replies, you can do so on my talk page, or can alternatively leave a message on this page, and I will know you have done so if you start it with my user name, User:Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ when you post it. That will send me an alert. I'm not alerted by messages like the above that don't ping me
Most of your text including all her supposed appearances are unsourced. As I said above, you need independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that she meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the to her or her company, press releases, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the she claims or interviewing her.
Bravo is not an independent source for its own show. The other ref is a blog, also not acceptable, but even if it were a proper source, all it confirms is her family relationships. As I said above, being related to famous people doesn't make her notable. If these are the best refs you can find, she still isn't notable, you need independent third-party sources.
To answer your question above, each language wikipedia is independent and sets its own rules. In general, English-speaking Wikipedia is much stricter on referencing, promotion and copyright than other languages Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:18, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Riley Voelkel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Brandi Cyrus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

lack of notability and sources

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay.
