May 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Adamgerber80. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Magar-class amphibious warfare vessel, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. February 2023[edit]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Patrick Murray (actor). Thank you. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 00:10, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

IIRC I gave a better reference than the one currently given in the article. It refers to an article in The Independent, giving his age.
His birth was registered in the three months ending December 1956, so obviously, he could not have been born in 1957. His mother's name was Juana Romero, married Patrick Murray 1954. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV7K-9GRB
He has three siblings, born 1955 to 1960 - all traceable in official records
On Twitter/X he thanked people for sending him birthday wishes. Look at the date - 18th December 2021. https://twitter.com/PatMurray000/status/1472214492956221440
Fits him being born on 17th December, as IMDB says.

I'll add this information to his Wikipedia page. It's better sourced than most of what's on it now. Pjirving (talk) 21:43, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Use of "grade" rather than age for children.[edit]

This is US-specific. Other countries have other school starting ages. It would be preferable to give the age, especially for non-Americans. Most users of Wikipedia are not from the USA.

This is a principle that should be applied across Wikipedia. Generic rather than country-specific terms should always be used, e.g. for university years. Wikipedia is for the world, not any single country. Pjirving (talk) 18:41, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
