Chief Peosta, Peosta, Iowa[edit]

I read your recent correction/addition to the article about Peosta, Iowa. I did not know that the town of Potosi, Wisconsin was named after settlers from Missouri. I was taught in school that the Chief Peosta/Dubuque/Potosi connection existed. It is quite interesting. Is there any way to confirm this? Any sources? It may be wise to remove the story from the Peosta, Iowa article since, after all, it has more to do with Potosi, Wisconsin, and little or nothing to do with Peosta, Iowa.DBQer 20:46, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Kind of (a) Stopwatch[edit]

Do you have a source for removing "a" from the title of "A Kind of a Stopwatch"? The sources in the article all use "a", including IMDb. I see your edit to List of The Twilight Zone episodes was reverted. Without sources, I am going to revert this edit as well; it reads rather like an accusation in addition to changing the title. Thank you for your explanation. The usage without the "a" for the TV episode was based on my research notes; I will investigate the original print sources. The official Web site for The Twilight Zone Radio Dramas refers to the radio adaptation as "A Kind of Stopwatch". Finally, the issue of the uncredited source for the episode being The Girl, the Gold Watch & Everything by John D. MacDonald came from an unpublished interview with Philip José Farmer, who claimed as well that the episode "Mr. Garrity and the Graves" was based on one of his own short stories ("Uproar in Acheron"). I am pleased to report that I tracked down one of the sources for the original title (without the "a"). "A Kind of Stopwatch" is the title on the script, two versions of which were published in As Timeless as Infinity: The Complete Twilight Zone Scripts of Rod Serling, Volume 3, edited by Tony Albarella (Gauntlet Press, 2007). It appears in the meantime that others have said what I would have said, especially at Talk:List_of_The_Twilight_Zone_episodes#A_Kind_of_Stopwatch:_The_Original_Title and in this edit summary. We can't site unpublished interviews, which are not verifiable or reliable sources. Your own "research notes" also would qualify as original research, which Wikipedia does not allow. It appears that you are referring to the script rather than the broadcast episode, which is what the article is about. While I am not a regular editor at the Twilight Zone Wikiproject and don't claim thorough knowledge about the series, I'd recommend going thereif you want further discussion.
