@192.136.166.69: No worries, happy editing! If you are into editing Wikipedia, you may also consider creating an account so that your edit history gets attached in your account regardless of how your IP address changes, along with many other benefits such as gaining access to some tools for easier editing as well as being able to edit semi-protected pages when you get autoconfirmed. -★- PlyrStar93. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Utilisateur:Liveteve/List of political parties in France a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.

General note on civility

Information icon Hello, I'm AnnHero. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, it's important to be mindful of the feelings of your fellow editors, who may be frustrated by certain types of interaction. While you probably didn't intend any offense, please do remember that Wikipedia strives to be an inclusive atmosphere. In light of that, it would be greatly appreciated if you could moderate yourself so as not to offend. Thank you. Also, please stop reverting changes to my talk page. I am allowed to remove warning templates posted by other editors acting in bad faith and assuming bad faith on my part. AnnHero (talk) 23:04, 1 April 2018 (UTC)

KIXEYE Wiki page

Hi, I'm the PR Manager for KIXEYE. You keep reverting my changes to our wiki page. Please refrain from reverting these changes as they approved by us, KIXEYE. If you need to contact me directly somehow, please do. The content and the changes I've made are company information and not in any way vandalism. We need to update our wiki page and this is adding more time to the process. KIXEYE (talk) 00:57, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

KIXEYE, the page you were editing is apparently closely related to you or your firm, as such you have a conflict of interest. Please take a look at the guidelines but basically you are expected to disclose your affiliation and better off propose the desired changes at the article's talk page and gain consensus before making such radical change. Contents that are "Approved" by your firm are not necessarily in compliance with Wikipedia's standards, mainly neutrality and verifiability (citing reliable third party sources instead of primarily using primary sources), also issues with encyclopedic writing styles. The best to do for someone with a conflict of interest to the topic, however, is to simply avoid editing that topic. I also noticed that you are blocked from editing due to username concerns, but this is just a soft block and you are welcome to request an unblock at your own talk page after reading all the guidelines about COI, username policy and requesting a change of username. -★- PlyrStar93. Wanting to add a link to Stornoway (band) page

Hi,

I am not fully familiar with Wikipedia protocol so I imagine that is the issue here. I am simply trying to hyperlink "Rob Steadman" in the article because I am Rob Steadman and I would like to have my name link to my current work.

Could you let me know why there is an issue here?

Thanks GeneralPunchy (talk) 22:21, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

GeneralPunchy, you can check out the external link policy regarding what types of links are allowed, and the specific formatting guidelines. In almost all cases, external links are not to be placed in the body of article. Personal websites are usually not linked unless the article's subject is the person. The subject of the article is a band, the individuals' personal sites are generally not needed in the page, especially in the body. -★- PlyrStar93. Message me. 22:38, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Your reversion at List of Sega video games

Hey, I recognize that you do a lot of vandalism reversion very quickly, but I feel this one was in error- regardless of whether the list was a good idea, it's not usually appropriate to slap down a new editor's non-vandalism contributions without even bothering to explain why. Rollback is supposed to be for clear vandalism only, and putting in 90k of appropriate tables into a list, even if 2/3 of it was recreation of what was there 3 years prior, is not vandalism. --PresN 02:26, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

PresN, I noticed that all the previous users who made the page into an actual list are blocked as socks. The newly created list is different from the socks, so chances are that this user is not related to the previous ones. I'm going to keep an eye on the user and see if there are other similarities with the previous socks. -★- PlyrStar93. Message me. 02:32, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

WP:UAA reports on users with no edits

Information iconGenerally, there is no reason to report usernames with no edits whatsoever. Per WP:UAAI: "Wait until the user edits. Do not report a user that hasn't edited unless they are clearly a vandal. We do not want to welcome productive editors with a report at UAA, nor do we want to waste our time dealing with accounts that may never be used." The exceptions are obvious hate speech or names that attack a living person/Wikipedia editor, those are blockable even without any edits, but other run-of-the-mill violations need not be reported unless and until they at least attempt to edit, and you should be able to clearly explain what the problem is if it is not immediately evident.

For whatever reason, every day dozens, if not hundreds of accounts are created that never make one single edit. It is our responsibility as admins to conscientiously review every report a user makes at UAA, so we have to check for contribs, deleted contribs, and tripping of the edit filter for every one of these reports, only to find out there's nothing there and therefore no problem to be solved. So we add the {{wait}} tag to the report, it goes to WP:UAA/HP for a week or more, and must then be reviewed again to see if the account has since become active before removing it. That's time that could be spent doing more productive things, but you basically obligate admins to do it by making such reports. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:33, 4 May 2018 (UTC)

I do acknowledge, however, that this was an unusual case in that their global userpage which was displaying here was problematic. That being said, blocking them here wouldn’t have changed that. I brought this up over at Meta, where the userpage was generated and someone added a handy piece of code to their page that makes it not display on other projects, so basically they are Meta’s problem now. @2604:2000:CFC0:101:38BB:8620:D2C5:3BA8: see the article's talk page. There is no consensus to add the nickname there, and "Nicknames and other aliases included must be frequently used by reliable sources in reference to the subject" per MOS:NICKNAME. Youtube is not a reliable source. Someone else has removed it again. If you want the nickname to be there then please find reliable secondary source and establish consensus on the talk page, otherwise you will most likely get reverted again. -★- PlyrStar93 Message me. 02:43, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Teach me

How did you know the Talk:Butterfly page was “vandalised” - only 1 byte.

And: if I change a typo in someone’s Talk is that bad; a nuisance; or just a waste of time? MBG02 (talk) 19:23, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

@MBG02: The IP was editing someone else's talk page message, which is prohibited by the talk page guidelines (in general "you should not edit or delete the comments of other editors without their permission", even for typo fix, while in this case the IP was introducing typo to other's message). If you see someone else's messages having typo or other errors, just leave them be and don't fix them. It's bad because it's against the guideline. Sometimes you can change or remove others' comments because they blatantly violate other Wikipedia policies (personal attacks, etc. when you probably just remove the comment). The edit showed up in the #cvn-wp-en IRC channel and that's how I noticed it. Even a 1-byte change can be easily spotted through the diff view. -★- PlyrStar93 Message me. 20:03, 14 August 2018 (UTC)

About alleged Defamatory content

I understand you may not understand Croatian language but if you visit Croatian Wikipedia and topics I questioned, with Google translate you'll be able to understand those articles are at least negating severe cases of war crimes of leaders of Croat puppet state NDH during 1940-es. The best Croatian historians will also confirm the statements I wrote in my edit. So it is not defamatory but rather you do not really understand Croatian to understand how severely wrong are those articles. Bukowski112 (talk) 07:29, 4 September 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, PlyrStar93. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

Foremost, let me apologize for removing all of the Hartforth content. I assumed all of the information on the page was incorrect, due to the addition of the falsifying information regarding a fake Lord - Anton Anderseen. All "cited" references regarding said person relates back to his own personal webpage. I have emailed and spoken with the College of Arms and UK Government for this individual is definitely a fraud for there is no current Lord of Hartforth. This person is scamming people, including me. Thus, the US and UK Governments have been contacted. Therefore, I would like to prevent anyone else from being scammed by removing his erroneous and fraudulent reference from the Hartforth page.
