The Running Man Barnstar
Looking through you have done some great work with the Scotland national rugby league team article. Real good quality of writing and dissemination of information, made it look a real professional piece of work.  CorleoneSerpicoMontana  10:49, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Brisbane Easts[edit]

A tag has been placed on Brisbane Easts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 08:34, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Crusaders RL-Stadia[edit]

Hello, great to see a genuine Welsh person and Crusaders fan editing, especially with such detail and vigour. Just a quick word on the note under the Others section that states "The club have also played one match each at Murrayfield in Edinburgh and the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff during the 2009 and 2010 seasons respectively as part of the Magic Weekend event." Firstly, only from 2011 does the Magic Weekend return to the Millennium Stadium, the event hasn't been held there since 2008. Secondly, I just wonder about the notability of mentioning this at all, as all the Super League teams, not just Crusaders, play at the stadium during the weekend, so I can't see how mentioning this under "Other Stadia" is necessary. When you think about it, if you were to do this, you would possibly have to mention every other stadium that crusaders have played at. The Magic Weekend fixtures are neutral venues, so cannot be classed as another venue that Crusaders have called their own, if you get my meaning.

Thanks,

Ymron (talk) 11:50, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pension scandal and potential winding up order.[edit]

Have you read this? Is there any truth in it? Any serious repercussions for Crusaders?

Portal:The Clash (9 November 2010)[edit]

Hi Poiuytre! As a member of The Clash WikiProject I thought I would let you know that The Clash portal went live today 9 November 2010. At the moment, the portal has 7 selected articles (Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, London Calling, Paul Simonon, Topper Headon, Rock the Casbah, and Should I Stay or Should I Go), some other articles are still in development and more will come in the future, 7 albums (London Calling, Combat Rock, Sandinista!, The Clash, Give 'Em Enough Rope, Super Black Market Clash, and Cut the Crap), 14 pictures (all covered by a free license; for the full list please check out this page), and 50 hooks for the DYK section (full list here). There are also sections on categories, topics, wikiproject, related portals, associated wikimedia, and more. Take a look when you have a second. Cheers. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 23:10, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rebrand[edit]

News speculation in the Guardian says Crusaders will be out of administration early next week, and will be rebranded again as the Welsh Crusaders. I was wondering 1) if you have heard this 2) if you know of any truth in this and 3) whether moving the Crusaders Rugby League article is a viable option any time soon.

Thanks a lot,

License tagging for File:CambridgeWards.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CambridgeWards.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Flag of Pembrokeshire.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Flag of Pembrokeshire.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:22, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading images of logos, flags, etc. gets a little tricky because there are two issues at play with these. There is copyright of the image and copyright or permission to use the design. Even if the design is free of copyright, as appears to be the case here, there is still the issue of copyright of the image (i.e. the PNG file). Here you indicated the author (i.e. creator of the image) was Peter Stock (who in fact was the designer of the flag), but gave no indication of permission by him to use his image. If YOU created the PNG file based on his design, I would suggest changing author to own work and clarifying that the flag was designed by Peter Stock. If you downloaded the PNG file from the Flag Institute and uploaded it, then the Flag Institute owns the copyright to the PNG file and permission will need to be obtained, or a new image created and uploaded under a new license. It might also be a good idea to include the tag Template:Insignia under permissions when uploading a government flag, seal or coat of arms. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Old England RL Logo.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Old England RL Logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
