I have also flagged copyright concerns with the image File:Shelf with holes 1988, Adam Kalinowski.jpg. While we are able to use limited non-free images of artworks, they must be used for the purposes of sourced discussion about the artwork itself - not simply the artist. Unless this concern is addressed by correcting any shortcomings in the non-free use rationale, to show how the image fits with our non-free content policy and guideline, the image will be deleted after Friday, 7 February 2014. I can't tell you exactly what's wrong with the article - it's been flagged for several issues - but copyright issues arise when text that is published elsewhere is published on Wikipedia without verified license. In this case, the article duplicates substantial text from an essay by Marianna Konarska published here. We need verification of license to use Konarska's text from her - the processes are described above. Without that permission, the article needs to be rewritten in the temporary space described above to remove all text copied from or closely paraphrased from her paper.
The article cannot be restored as it is unless license is verified. Once the copyright concerns are addressed, other concerns with the article (whatever they are) may then be addressed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:08, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In the absence of permission, this content has now been removed. Odds are good that most of it would have been removed anyway, as it does not suit our internal policies and guidelines.

Just to be sure that we are clear, let me explain that Wikipedia is not a personal webhost where people may write what they wish about themselves or subjects of interest to them. There are a lot of rules about what we can say in our articles. Wikipedia is a a collaborative online encyclopedia which is intended to summarize neutrally in due weight what reliable sources say about notable subjects. Our three core content policies are Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research, but there are many, many other guidelines to help us create a unified look and feel.

Another thing that newcomers here find very unusual, the people who write articles here do not "own" them - that is, you cannot control what happens with content once you place it on Wikipedia. By clicking save page, you agree to the Terms of Use of the website, which includes allowing other editors to change your material. There are things you can do if their changes do not conform to our policies, but they have as much a right to write this article as you do. (See WP:Own.)

Given that this subject is all you have ever worked on, it seems pretty obvious that you have a personal interest in it. If they actually describe a piece of work or relating to the pictures shown? Text I have used has been published in a art magazine . And also why pictures of works can not be related to the places or institutions which held them ? What do you mean by personal interest? I will be editing it furthermore because I am not happy for how it looks like now . In future I will send you permissions from authors of the texts being used.[reply]

First, the copyright problem - the content was published before. We don't have permission of the author/publisher to publish it. Second, what is appropriate for an art magazine is not necessarily appropriate for us. We do not serve the same purpose as an art magazine - we are not here to analyze art or provide subjective responses to it. It is fine for us to quote what art magazine say about creative works, but even that we have do in proportion.
The pictures of works can be related to the places and institutions that have held them, but the external links are inappropriate and the way they had been scattered is not in accord with our manual of style. They have been put into a gallery section with a brief descriptor for each.
I mean by personal interest that it is obvious that either you are the artist or are connected with him in some way. Because of this, you may have a "conflict of interest" - you may not be neutral on the subject of the artist, for instance, which is required. You may also wish to add information to the article that you know to be true, and we cannot do this - if it isn't supported in a reliable, published source, we can't use it. Please read the conflict of interest guideline and ensure that you follow it.
As long as you follow the rules set out there and in other policies, you are welcome to edit the article, but, again, I must remind that you do not have any more rights to this article than any other editor on Wikipedia. Content on our website belongs to Wikipedia, not to us as individuals. It must accord with the policies and guidelines here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:46, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
