Jason Mewes[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Jason Mewes, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, or obtained through personal knowledge or unpublished synthesis of previously published material. Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. The inline citation at the end of the passage in question does not support the information you added to it. If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 00:58, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey no worries ese, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it someday. Thanks for the advice cabron. PoppingCorns (talk) 01:12, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The next time you violate Wikipedia's policies on Civility by referring to me or any other editor as cabron, or with any other similar pejorative, you will be blocked from editing. Nightscream (talk) 21:07, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise, I don't speak Spanish and I genuinely thought that the term meant "friend". I unreservedly apologise for my carelessness in choosing this word, and respectfully submit that I wish to end this missive with the term "amigo".

Fondest regards, PoppingCorns (talk) 21:23, 4 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. An editor named SpinningSpark informs me that the word cabron, is not derogatory in Mexico, although it is just about everywhere else. I know you said you don't speak Spanish, but did you assimilate the word from having lived near Mexico or grown up with Mexican-American friends? Nightscream (talk) 18:44, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah yes, that was it - a friend of mine named Steve took a trip to Tijuana to get tanned and wasted and when he returned he started calling the rest of us that. I guess we sort of picked it up from there. I didn't mean it in a derogatory way, and naturally in future I'll be much more cautious in using it... now that I've remembered that I've got to tell Steve! He'll crack up. Popping Corns 06:05, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry that I formed wrong the conclusion. I grew up among Latinos in Union City, NJ, which is mostly Latino, and because of that, I'm familiar with its more prevalent derogatory meaning. Although I knew cabra meant goat, I didn't know that there was a non-derogatory meaning to cabron. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 06:41, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits[edit]

A large proportion of your edits are being reverted. I suggest that you pause for a while, look back over your old edits, and review the reasons people have been reverting you. Many of your additions have been irrelevant[1] or unnecessary[2] to the articles you edited, or just plain wrong.[3] Please also take the time to understand WP:OVERLINK and the need for verification. SpinningSpark 19:18, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Garrr, I'm sorry. Looks like I need to do some more reading on what's to be expected. I just want to be comprehensive and not push it all too hard too fast. It's a learning curve here on wikipedia, and I think I'm still getting the hang of it. :/ Popping Corns 00:03, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

June 2012[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is invited to contribute, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Gerhard Oechsle, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. You added 3 {{stub}} tags to Gerhard Oechsle, even after reverting a couple. It didn't need even one, as it already had a subject-specific stub tag. Please stop this disruptive editing. As you wish Pam. I still don't think I've got the hang of editing, I Popping Corns 00:26, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Publishing Scotland, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. --Stemonitis (talk) 16:49, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because this image is only on Wikipedia with a claim of fair use, it's not allowed to appear on talk pages, so I've had to change it so that it's just a link to the image. Nyttend (talk) 01:54, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

THE BAR[edit]

LET THIS LINE CONSTITUTE THE BAR, THANKYOU

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. - LuckyLouie (talk) 23:21, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are not an admin[edit]

Please stop trying to impersonate an administrator. (I have removed the misleading userboxes from your user page.) Also, you need to remove your {{subst:User admin}} from your signature. Regards, --MuZemike 23:33, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Official reaction[edit]

I am sorry, I had not realised that administrator was a protected role with responsibilities over and above even those of a regular user like myself, I thought/felt myself and others like me in the role of providing administration to Wikipedia to the extent that I can edit articles, even to the extent that we can write articles, which I have not done, though I may tomorrow or other days.

Thankyou and sorry, I must fully apologise, I did not mean to slander true administrators, I was a genuine mistake, and I will never happe nagain: Popping Corns 00:51, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It would be easier to take you at your word on that if you also hadn't lied outright about your tenure here and how many edits you have made, but I think we can take it as read at this point that you understand that on Wikipedia, unlike much of the rest of the internet, we actually pay attention to such things and will remove obviously false claims. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:13, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am perplexed; I do not sir believe I have lied, nor do I believe I have ever made any claim as to any number of edits I have made, which number now at a guess over twenty all told....... if I have made such as you say false claims then I do most deeply and humbly regret them to you and everyone else here, and thusly likewise apologise even to the point of contrition.

Well met and thankyou for your patient thought. Popping Corns 01:24, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I believe the confusion occurred because you copy/pasted things that had firm timelines/dates built in ... such as saying the person had been active for a certain amount of time. Whenever you "borrow" something like that, there's a need to fix them to be valid in your specific case before saving the edit.
While we have your attention, would you care to explain the statement at the top of your page where it says "THE NEW OWNERS OF THIS ACCOUNT" ... the words "new" ... "owners" are both possibly problematic (✉→BWilkins←✎) 14:20, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, bene! So much have my problems been so far that I have copied and pasted, even without reading to find out what needs be. Thankyou and it will be changed likewise. Also, I am the sole user of this account - "accept no substitutes" - thankyou - and I will delete such diffficult phrasing forthwith whenever and at such time as it should be deemed necessary, even if now would be your recommendation, thankyou Popping Corns 15:28, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Does that mean you've always been the sole user? Nil Einne (talk) 16:23, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I have, never, but rather inherited it from my erstwhile friend when he gave me his laptop computer. Within there I saw the Wikipedia user, and upon his blessing (conducted over the telephone), he availed me of the uses of this account, as the sole user of the account, even with and to the extent that each of its Pass Words are now my known out of heart.

Also though I did not the significant of the name Popping Corns until told it to me by him , and to look in the cupboard - and surely there it was! Even at the movies! Clever boy -

That I felt it might imporve my English, he felt doubly so; that it might provide even to the point that it would make an addition to my resume, that my English ewven able into wikipedia, even to the extent of CREATING articles, was I felt, and he felt doubly so; and with your help and Gentle Blessing at reach of mine and his this ambitious into truth.

Thankyou for the opportunity, I am the sole user, Popping Corns 16:40, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your understanding and for changing your signature. Your assistance in helping us out is very appreciated. --MuZemike 16:36, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well met, friend MuZemike! I shall to continue in helping us out anyway I can, thankyou Popping Corns 16:40, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Machine translation[edit]

Please do not directly copy and paste machine translated text directly into Wikipedia articles, as you did with this edit to Mizzi Kaspar. Machine-translated text often contains errors of grammar and content, and needs to be carefully reviewed and edited by a human being who has a firm grasp of English. If you are not prepared to complete that editing – and to give appropriate credit for the source material, as specified in Wikipedia:Translation – then you shouldn't be making these sorts of edits. Official Reaction[edit]

Thankyou, it is my intention that the life of this remarkable woman shall be described in the luscious tones solicited by a woman of her Great Stature in the history of our very continent (Europe being said continent), even as she is on the German wikipedia, as well as I am sure also websites otherwise if not excluding books and even in other places - movies? I do not know; - and this task I shall undertake personally and see to it that a woman of her Great Stature is given the Respect deserve'd. Thankyou, I shall undertake to do so, and even shall not limit m'self to machine translations, and even shall write the script myself, taking great care to avoid all errors of logic, fact, and yes, my own personal pandemon of spelling! In English! And not from the German, of which neither do I speak or write equally.

Thankyou for your truth, Popping Corns 15:33, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

July 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Winfried Glatzeder, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you.  Sandstein  15:49, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Account[edit]

Considering WP:NOSHARE, if your friend ever edited with this account, it may be better if you create a new account as accounts are supposed to belong to a single editor for life (with the only exceptions not really applying here). While I understand neither of you set out to share accounts, and you are the only one using this account now, it will reduce future confusion. If you plan to include your editing history on your CV, having all the edits originate from you will also help. Under your new account, you can link to this account noting you made some edits before you were aware accounts shouldn't be transferred. Nil Einne (talk) 17:52, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I suppose that depends on the interpretation of WP:NOSHARE. It says there, "Any user account should represent an individual and not a group." Technically, this account has always represented a single individual at any given time, but the particular individual has changed. I believe the spirit of "No Share" is to prevent multiple individuals from using the same account at the same time (e.g., Person A uses the account during the day while Person B uses the account during the night). Useight (talk) 21:12, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My good sirs, I should not most like to think of causing any nuisance by my presence here, even to the extent that I am the user of an account to which it cannot be said that I was the creator, no nor not even that I was the sole owner, even to the extent that my erstwhile friend gifted it to me... Thus shall it be that I shall very much accept whichever judgment you make in this matter in Good Humour and Gentle Spirit and, should the time come taht you shold decide that I must give up this account, even to the point that it lies without user of any personal, then I will create a new wikipedia page and return promptly forthwith in order to the continue of it even, under different names.

Thankyou and good night to you both, and to all, well met Popping Corns 21:42, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And drop the funny-talk act. -- œ 08:38, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
