Regarding this edit of yours, I agree with what you're saying, but the way you said it was WP:UNCIVIL. I draw your attention to WP:VPP#RfC: Make Biting Newcomers A Blockable Offense. -- RoySmith (talk) 17:04, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

You're drawing my attention to a largely opposed and thus far, unaccepted RFC? Praxidicae (talk) 17:06, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Even (loosely) intimating that there could be a block for that comment is something I strongly disagree about. Sure, it could be toned down, but it's not especially egregious, either. El_C 17:12, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
I would love to see your reasoning for even suggesting a block and what you expect it would achieve, per WP:ADMINACCT. Go on @RoySmith:, humour me. Nick (talk) 17:16, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
I did not intend to imply that this approached the threshold for a block (although I can certainly see why it was mis-interpreted that way, for which I apologize). But, I do think the comment was uncivil, and bitey, and that's the point I was trying to make. -- RoySmith (talk) 17:24, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

User suspiciously keen on deleting articles

Hi Praxidicae, you seem very keen on deleting articles, you have also written that I am paid to edit which I am not additionally I have specified this in the past. After looking at your talk page I have also noticed some others have had articles deleted thanks to you. You don't leave a very clear reason why the article is deleted and you rebuke the article in an area of field that you seemingly have little to no knowledge or experience with. All of that and your user page is political. These things ad up to a quite suspicious gut feeling which I'm sure some will be familiar with. Please move the article back before further consequences shall come from this dispute. Eratomsen454 (talk) 13:48, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

@Eratomsen454, Per a portion of your comment above which reads you rebuke the article in an area of field that you seemingly have little to no knowledge or experience with, that’s inconsequential, all Praxidicae needs to know are policies and guidelines governing this collaborative project (which they are very knowledgeable about) hence that comment is totally irrelevant. Also which bs “consequences” are you referring to? Celestina007 (talk) 22:31, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Eratomsen454 what exactly are you finding suspicious and what consequences are you referring to? And while we're at it, can you please explain your connection to Winkler and how you came to be the copyright holder of this photo which you've claimed as your own work? Praxidicae (talk) 13:49, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Eratomsen454 Also, remember we assume good faith here...you seem to be skipping over that. -- Dane talk 13:51, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

You can read about who I am and my field of expertise at my user page, it explains itself. I uploaded this photo to wiki commons to use in the article about Winkler. It comes from his website https://winklerviolin.com/ I have had articles denied many times, yet I always look at the user's page, just to be on the safe side. When I find a user whose user page does not even talk about experience or knowledge but purely shows something political (which wiki clearly states is against guidelines ) I become curious. When I thereafter go to the user's talk and I see that many others have unjustifiably had their articles removed it makes me interested. In regard to the consequences I am sure, you know that wiki users may have to be investigated by administrators. I am not interested in getting into finger-pointing competitions, let us settle this dispute.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Eratomsen454 (talkcontribs)

Eratomsen454 You know very little about Wikipedia based on your comments here. You claimed the photo was your own work, which is untrue, so why am I to believe what you say now? Aside from that, we have strict copyright policies. Read them. If you dislike my userpage, don't look at it. And per your own words justifiably deleted, well, if you have an issue with justified deletions, Wikipedia isn't going to be fun for you. We have specific sourcing and inclusion criteria. We don't have articles on everything that has ever existed. That's what blogs and google are for. If you intend on initiating an "investigation by admin", go to WP:ANI and make your case. Praxidicae (talk) 14:10, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Also if you think saying "Black lives matter" is political, kindly see yourself off my talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 14:16, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

If I have claimed that the picture was mine I admit I have made a mistake I will certainly change that, no one is perfect I think we all make a typo like mistakes. Again the deletion was not particularly justified (An explanation was what i was poking around after.) Additionally, I will certainly not make the mistake of engaging in political discourse upon internet platforms.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Eratomsen454 (talkcontribs)

Eratomsen454 please WP:SIGN your edits. Further, I never deleted anything. I don't even have that capability. I did move it to draft space because it was inappropriate for mainspace and does not demonstrate notability nor does it contain reliable sources. Read WP:BLP. Praxidicae (talk) 14:24, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
information Administrator note Eratomsen454, Praxidicae is more than qualified to move an article into draft space. If you wish to see that action reversed, have that draft reviewed accordingly. El_C 14:27, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Is it possible for you to move the article back? Eratomsen454 (talk) 14:43, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Eratomsen454 Go through the review process as El C told you above. Praxidicae (talk) 14:45, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
Eratomsen454, yes I could do it, but I won't. I trust Praxidicae's judgment. El_C 14:48, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
information Administrator note Eratomsen454, nobody is going to move it back to article space as long as it is full of unreliable sources such as Wordpress. Please see my post on your page. Bishonen | tålk 14:57, 26 June 2020 (UTC).

Moves to draft space

Hi Praxidicae, I don't think the move of this article to draftspace was appropriate. This article certainly had room for improvement, but it was not at a state where it should be deleted in six months if not improved (what a move to draftspace means). Thanks, Calliopejen1 (talk) 04:17, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

I did this after conferring with a native arabic speaker who confirmed to me that this wasn't properly sourced (and likely not notable but that's another matter)...Praxidicae (talk) 11:30, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Pressure Cooker

You keep reverting my corrections. The information to which you keep reverting is incorrect. Please stop. Thank you.Clepsydrae (talk) 13:24, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

See your talk page and start using edit summaries, this is a spam link, we do not use links to individual sellers and companies to support statements in broad articles like this. Revert yourself or find an actual source. Praxidicae (talk) 13:25, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
It's a link to a FREE (i.e. NOT spam) online calculator. But if you think it's spam, I'll just find another FREE (NOT spam) online calculator. Or are all free online calculators in your humble opinion considered "spam?"Clepsydrae (talk) 13:28, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Because we don't rely on the word of individual companies for broad topics as they have a vested interest in selling their product. Also you need to remove this as per WP:POLEMIC. If you really think I'm a vandal, you should provide diffs and report me to WP:AIV or WP:ANI. Praxidicae (talk) 13:29, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
I think you need to improve your reading comprehension, as I specifically stated, "who is apparently a vandal, as the information to which he keeps reverting is incorrect." I'm describing your propensity for edit warring, not you as a person. I am not, however, going to waste my day fighting Wikipedia inaccuracies, particularly those perpetuated by such as yourself. If Wikipedia has devolved into systemic inaccuracy perpetuated by whoever's fastest and loudest on reporting things, then may God help Wikipedia.Clepsydrae (talk) 13:34, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
I am not edit warring and I am not a vandal. I fully understand our policies on linking websites. Maybe you should read up on it and ditch all the nasty WP:POLEMIC on your userpage. Praxidicae (talk) 13:35, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
I reviewed WP:POLEMIC. I did not mention your name. You brought attention to yourself. My comment concerning "apparently a vandal" describes the behavior reverting accurate information to inaccurate information, and as such my comment is objective, accurate, and in no way polemic, contrary to you obviously heartfelt opinion. It stands. I have work to do. Please stop wasting my time. Good day.Clepsydrae (talk) 13:42, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Then go do whatever "work" you have to do and stay off my talk page with your nonsense. Thanks. Praxidicae (talk) 13:42, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Mahabalipuram vs Mamallapuram

Hi, Just to let you know that I intend to restore the article title as Mahabalipuram. It was moved to Mamallapuram in 2017 by an editor without seeking consensus. The situation is similar to what we are facing at Talk:Allahabad (government deciding to rename a city), however we are having a clear consensus that we do not rename until WP:COMMONNAME is satisfied. Mahabalipuram has four times more Google results than Mamallapuram and is infinitely more common across the world than the new name. — kashmīrī TALK 16:52, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

No, you need to get consensus. Praxidicae (talk) 16:56, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Why so? Reverting a change doesn't need a consensus. WP:BRD. — kashmīrī TALK 16:58, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

Request Recreation Zanda Zakuza

Hi I'm@F5pillar: you move this Zanda Zakuza into draft and still in red tag. I just want to recreate the page, didn't really know what make the page be deleted and can't even find who create the article, maybe if you can allow me to recreate the page because it's already in my list of article to be created, never realise it was even in WP before, it was when I search for it before noticing it was in red tag and already deleted. Much regards (F5pillar---/ Let's talk🖋📩) 08:05, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

There is no consensus on Swarajya Magazine webpage

Sorry, there is no consensus on talk page. There is just an unfinished agenda. Possibly one side was tired out. I am working to put a banner on the page citing that this topic is under discussion with no consensus. Baransam (talk) 11:33, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

There is consensus. Read it. Revert it again and you'll be blocked. And read this Praxidicae (talk) 11:34, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
Please look up dictionary entry of consensus. If I am disagreeing, how can you claim consensus? I am curious to see how does blocking feel like? And how can one user (you) block another one (me) because you disagree with me? Baransam (talk) 12:02, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
I won't block you but if you continue edit warring and making contentious edit summaries such as your last one, an administrator will. Perhaps you should read WP:CONSENSUS . Praxidicae (talk) 12:03, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for providing the WP:CONSENSUS link. I disagree with the statement that there was any consensus reached. I will seek compromise as per the flow chart. I will also attempt to put the page under suitable disclaimer till then. Baransam (talk) 12:15, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Question about an account doing cross-wiki spams

Hi! Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you could perhaps help with my enquiry about what's the best course of action about a user who's recently recreated a previously deleted article on Simple Wiki. The account is the sole creator for the article that was previously deleted (QD for failing GNG) and has created a series of articles across many many wiki projects and now claiming notability based on those. You may check the full details in my notes in this RfD thread. As I noticed you're pretty active in fighting such spams in the RfD threads here on EN, I was hoping you could point me towards the right direction? — Infogapp1 (talk) 14:21, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello

Hi there, As i see you are continually placing the speedy deletion tag on the page Vivek Verma, i am writing here to inform you that i oppose that deletion, and i am going to remove the tag from the page as per wp policies any one can contest the deletion if they feel like, moreover it seems like you are in a edit war!! Stonertone (talk) 14:46, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

No, you may not remove G4 without adequate reason (ie. can definitively say it is different). Remove it again and you will be in violation of WP:3RR among other things. Praxidicae (talk) 14:46, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Make Wiki Safer

Hi there,

I want to disclose an under cover page without any notability and just created for google panel. have a look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romy_Johnson --Bingo2020 (talk) 21:35, 27 June 2020 (UTC)

@Bingo2020, Did you say an “under cover” page? How did you know it was “created for google panel” ? I’m guessing you mean it was created just for show(someone who justs wants a Wikipedia presence) by a paid editor, but again how did you get to know this? Celestina007 (talk) 23:20, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
@Praxidicae Just check list of paid references! little dig in will lead you to cause of this page creation! Bingo2020 (talk) 23:25, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
@Bingo2020, I’m not Praxidicae. Anyway, you joining this collaborative project 13 hours ago & your first edit being an unsuccessful attempt to send the article to an AFD shows there is a lot of off-wiki backstory we obviously aren’t seeing/getting, either you have a COI with the article creator or its subject, or you are reporting competition. Having said that, If you think the article doesn’t satisfy WP:GNG, see WP:AFDHOWTO & follow the steps to correctly nominate the article(or any article) for deletion. Celestina007 (talk) 00:11, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
Celestina007 @Praxidicae you are free to express your opinion but the page I mentioned is now nominated to deletion! --Bingo2020 (talk) 20:18, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
@Bingo2020, I did not say it was notable & no! it has not been nominated for deletion, all of which is asides the point. Celestina007 (talk) 20:25, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Trying to restore a page that you marked for speedy deletion

Hi, i am trying to restore a page that you marked for speedy deletion. The page name "dispatch News Desk' is a well-known news agency of Pakistan and it has been tweeted or praised by different political leaders including Imran Khan (Prime Minister of Pakistan) I think that its worthy to be included on Wikipedia just like other news publications of Pakistan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aghaasadharoon (talkcontribs) 09:47, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Need Help Making Article Better

Hello Praxidicae, you recently nominated my article on Marko Danial for deletion, and I was curious as to why? I have worked on this page for a while, and I believe everything is done correctly this time. Although it may be a bit similar to a previous article written on him, it is still limited in the new information that is used as well as many more different sources. Since he is a public figure, it is a bit harder to write new information without making it too promotional. Any advice on how we can save it so it does not get deleted? :)

Johnson28.7 (talk)

Johnson28.7 It was explained thoroughly to you at the previous AFD which you even participated in. I also explained issues in my warnings which you've yet to address. Praxidicae (talk) 18:17, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Praxidicae (talk) would you mind taking a look at it now. I have edited the article and removed any similar information from the last article. Johnson28.7 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:26, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Johnson28.7 No. You've only succeeded in making it much worse by adding garbage sources that were paid for by the subject/their PR team. Also stop obfuscating; if you keep ignoring my question about your affiliation to the artist and your status as a paid editor, I will not respond nor will I help. Praxidicae (talk) 18:28, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Praxidicae I apologize for wasting your time, I'm still a newbie to Wikipedia trying to get the hang of things lol. But no I am not affiliated with the subject. Johnson28.7 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 18:51, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

Contesting deletion of Lightstep,_Inc.

Hi, I see that you have applied for the deletion of Lightstep,_Inc. . First of all, that article was written using references from reputed News Agencies. This organization has raised more than $40 Million in fundings. This is something that will inspire people. So, I have contested speedy deletion of the page. Thanks Theproeditor7 (talk) 16:11, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, hope you're doing well. I'm asking for advice on Talk:Lightstep, Inc.. The {{db-g8}} template says, and I quote, "This page may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion as a dependent page of a page which does not exist, has been deleted, or is itself currently tagged for speedy deletion. This does not include pages which are useful to the project such as user subpages and talk pages, talk page archives, information for a future article, Articles for Creation drafts, etc. See CSD G8." Henceforth, I tagged it as the corresponding page is tagged for CSD. Please clarify the revert. Thanks, PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 18:09, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
Which part of this criteria do you think applies? The corresponding article exists and I have never once seen g8 apply to an article that is undeleted. Praxidicae (talk) 18:09, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
The template says that talkpages of pages tagged for CSD are also eligible for this criterion. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 18:11, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
This is never done in practice. It doesn't need to be tagged g8 unless the article is deleted, in which case the talk page is automatically deleted anyway. Praxidicae (talk) 18:12, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
Praxidicae thanks for the clarification. PRAHLADbalaji (M•T•AC) This message was left at 18:12, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Mass reversion of content at Brittany Lee Lewis

This edit (and similar previous edits) to the article for Brittany Lee Lewis have been mass reversions of content including material that I added to the article with reliable and verifiable sourcing, as well as categories that were added to the article. It appears that in your zeal to label another editor as engaging in black hat seo operations, you are also removing perfectly valid content. I've reverted your edit again and ask you to take far more care in any future such mass content removals. Alansohn (talk) 13:21, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Alansohn I reverted blatant promo sourced to fake sites that are operated by blackhat SEO firms. Praxidicae (talk) 13:22, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
this and this are completely fake "news" sites operated by said firms I referred to above. These are the sources you're claiming are reliable? That is laughable. And all you're doing is just restoring crappy sources and promotional material by an editor who was hired to promote her. Praxidicae (talk) 13:24, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Look at the article history. Look at this edit. If you are accusing me of engaging in black hat seo operations as part of some vast conspiracy, this is wholly laughable. As I said before "in your zeal to label another editor as engaging in black hat seo operations, you are also removing perfectly valid content". I don't care about your other bullshit about fake sites and other conspiracy theories; that's your crusade. If you want to deal with improper content and sourcing then do it correctly without deleting legitimate content. Alansohn (talk) 13:35, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
I didn't accuse you or the other editor, I am talking about the sources, which are absolute garbage as I stated above. Also take a chill pill. Civility is still a thing here, in case you don't remember. And the onus is on the person adding content for a BLP, which is also a policy and you know this. And my statement about hte other editor being hired to promote her is true, as per their disclosure on their talk page, so it's not an accusation either.Praxidicae (talk) 13:37, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
FWIW, I agree with Prax that the BO Herald and the California Herald are not legitimate news sites, despite the thin veneer of respectability they attempt to portray. Both appear to have fake addresses, for instance, and both are a vaguely disguised press release/interview pretending to be legitimate journalism. I do not see where Praxidicae accuses or labels any Wikipedia editor of engaging in black hat SEO operations. Waggie (talk) 15:36, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Declined Article

Iammedley (talk) 15:40, 21 July 2020 (UTC)please how is it not from a reliable source?

Thank you!

Hi there! Thanks for your suggestions for my article draft: Sano Genetics, it's really helpful getting advice rather than just a speedy deletion request! I'd appreciate having your help in making the page better - with more reliable sourcing and removing any wording that sounds too much like an advertisement. I've already made some edits to it, but it would be really useful if you could give me some specific pointers for improvement?

Thanks again, I'm new to Wiki and it can be quite daunting! Clarealev (talk) 15:45, 21 July 2020 (UTC)

Dear Praxidicae,

Thank you for your message and the useful comments on how my edits look like. However, I would like to declare that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for the edits I am making. In particular, my intention was to affiliate this article with the greek version of it.

Could you please revert to the changes I have made? Otherwise, would you like to advise on how I can handle this?

Thank you in advance for your kind collaboration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Christina Maltezou (talkcontribs) 13:31, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Draft:Sara Baghlani

Hi, Praxidicae! Can you point me to anything that connects the users رکسانا پدیا and ArmanAfifeh? – I'm not managing to see it, and am not comfortable deleting Draft:Sara Baghlani without it. Many thanks, for this as for all the other great work you do, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 09:54, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Justlettersandnumbers there is an xwiki tie but I'm not comfortable posting it publicly due to WP:BEANS. It is however, globally locked and confirmed to this xwiki lta. Praxidicae (talk) 12:01, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
WP:BEANS is a good reason. Would you perhaps email me? Or drop a note on my OTRS wiki talk-page? (though I'm not really sure if that's a correct use of that platform). Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:49, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
I'm honestly scattered around today. They're globally locked and confirmed by a steward, that should really be enough for a G5 but I will email later this week if you still think it's absolutely necessary. A confirmation by way of Stewards is the same as a CU confirmation on wiki. Praxidicae (talk) 21:51, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
I am also deep into another much larger and prolific upe case at SPI and really don't feel like going back through everything. They have been blocked on fawiki too. Pinging Ahmad252 who can also shed some light. Oh and see DJ Sani and the other billion variants. Praxidicae (talk) 21:52, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
For what it’s worth, it’s  Confirmed locally as well. TonyBallioni (talk) 22:02, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, Tony ... but where is it documented? Last recorded sock at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ArmanAfifeh/Archive is Wmozart1. I'll happily delete the page but would like to see some record of a connection between the two users before I do so. رکسانا پدیا is globally locked, but with the explanation "Spam-only account" and no link to the supposed master. Or I can just leave it for someone else of course, also OK with me. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 23:07, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Jlan, it's probably documented on CU wiki - but I didn't request a local cu because it as sufficient for a steward and a cu here without a request to confirm it. I'm not sure what more possible evidence you could possibly need short of being given the technical data. Praxidicae (talk) 23:09, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
I just ran a check here when I saw the question. Stewards are less good about linking to masters, and we don’t always update SPIs here for every sock. No clue if it’s documented on cuwiki, but the range is full of other socks for that master. TonyBallioni (talk) 23:26, 22 July 2020 (UTC)
Justlettersandnumbers, it's a bit complicated. I can't really point out one specific edit that ties رکسانا پدیا to other socks, but rather, a behavioral pattern. In addition, the editing pattern has almost completely changed since ArmanAfifeh. In fact, CU evidence never confirmed a connection to ArmanAfifeh himself (since the CU data was no longer accessible by the time the account was checked); it's based on behavioral evidence. If it's still useful, I can email you the evidence that ties رکسانا پدیا to other socks.
Also, I think it's worth mentioning that they use methods to change their IP address frequently, and I've been told that the user agents are fake, too. Although the ultimate IP range is usually the same, I've been told that blocking it will result in heavy collateral damage (I'm not a CU). Although CU has proved to be useful in some/most cases, I usually skip the SPI and local blocks altogether and just ask for a global lock. Ahmadtalk 02:19, 23 July 2020 (UTC)
Thank you everyone! I wrote my last comment too late at night – obviously Tony's word was quite enough for anyone to delete the page (which is now gone). Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 08:38, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Robert McClenon (talk) 14:58, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

I think that the Page Curation tool has a misfeature, so that any tagging of the page with tags also marks it as reviewed. I know that I have occasionally tagged a page as needing copy-edit or as having inappropriate external links, and have found that it was marked as reviewed, when that was not my intent, and have had to unreview it. Do you want to review the page, or should we leave it for another reviewer? Robert McClenon (talk) 15:02, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Unrolled updates for sources and information

Hi Praxidicae could you help me to understand why my edits got unrolled? I wrote things that were missing and added sources (e.g. the way the gsmarena.com is used).

Thank you for responding. I didn’t know how to catch your attention as you were not responding on your page. How is that the source I added different than other sources in that article like eg gsmarena.com? The same quality information so why some are more equal than others?

The website you're adding isn't a reliable source. It's spam. Praxidicae (talk) 17:37, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

The amount of pings I've got from Vaze50 is a horrible amount, can you have a word with this person please, also, Pyrite Pro is a straight forward duck, who it belongs too I don't know, I tried to point out this issue. There are issues at play with Vaze posting loads of comments at me over this football related issue which I don't really want to response too. Please, please have a look. Govvy (talk) 21:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator, and I'm not going to get involved in an editorial dispute. You can take it to WP:ANI if you think it rises to that level or WP:DRN if you can't work it out on your own. You've presented no evidence that Pyrite is a sock of anyone, there are no diffs and a quick look, it doesn't appear to be a duck as you say. SPI is not the place to hash out editorial conflicts or baseless suspicion. Praxidicae (talk) 21:44, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
I thought you had to be an admin to admin SPIs and close them. :/ Govvy (talk) 21:50, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) @Govvy: Praxidicae is a member of the SPI clerks, who are editors experienced with the SPI process and allowed to decide their results, and they don't necessarily have to be administrators. I agree with Praxidicae that SPI is a bad venue for these kinds of single-account investigations where there isn't specific evidence relating the account to a particular sockmaster, but the account seems "suspicious". CheckUsers can and do sometimes run checks in these cases, but per WP:NOTFISHING there needs to be credible evidence of abusive sockpuppetry (a suspicion that someone is "not new" is not necessarily abusive in itself). Ultimately SPI is generally not the best venue for requesting such a check—in the future, consider instead contacting a checkuser privately. Mz7 (talk) 21:52, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Mz7: I use to msg Bbb23 on rare occasions, but since he retired... I didn't really know who else to ask really. Govvy (talk) 22:00, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Govvy: We now have an OTRS queue at checkuser-en-wp@wikipedia.org that you could try. I'm also a checkuser, if you want to email me, Special:EmailUser/Mz7. Mz7 (talk) 22:10, 24 July 2020 (UTC)
@Govvy: Thank you for your concerns regarding sock puppetry. While I don't take your suspicion of me as a sock puppet personally and assume good faith, I do not like you throwing around my user name on different pages without notifying me. Another user had to inform me of the SPI, and me finding my name on this talk page was coincidental. I don't mind you mentioning my user name at all, but if those mentions are accompanied by mild slander, I do think it is fair to at least ping me. Therefore, please refrain from spreading my user name and/or any slander without pinging. And maybe refrain from spreading any slander at all, as the SPI is closed without action. Thank you. Master P - r

The source for Master P's actual year of birth (1967) is from a 2005 arrest report. It's public information, as it does not contain the subject's phone number, address, or any of that nature. His birth name is also widely known. IcedLemonade (talk) 20:50, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @IcedLemonade: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. "Official records" are not suitable for biographies of living persons. Dates of birth particularly must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking." --Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:53, 29 July 2020 (UTC)

Read WP:BLPPRIVACY. This is what is relevant. And WP:UNDUE. Using an arrest record which isn't otherwise covered is a BLP violation. Praxidicae (talk) 20:54, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
Also, Georgia Bird being arrested != conviction. It's not covered in RS, it shouldn't be in the article. In fact, it isn't even covered in our article so linking to an arrest record is wildly undue and again, a BLP vio. I can't believe this needs to be said to an editor of your tenure. Praxidicae (talk) 21:00, 29 July 2020 (UTC)
His criminal information was indeed mentioned in the article, but has since been removed. I didn't link the actual arrest report, I cited the article where it came from; The Smoking Gun. It was the only source that contained his actual year of birth.
Also, I'm an on and off editor, who doesn't have time to read updated rules as I should. I have a life, unlike some people in here. IcedLemonade (talk) 00:13, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
If you're going to be nasty about it, you can see yourself away from my talk page. Thanks. The BLP policy has existed for at least a decade. Praxidicae (talk) 00:14, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Article deleted

Hi, As wiki states be polite and Assume them to be in good faith, to NEW users ( i am relatively a NEW user)  : with this fundamental ethics of Wiki i ask you. My article was deleted by you upon suggestion from another user named GPL ( who sent you a message on suspicion that i may be gaining monetorily from writing the article). Now i would like to bring couple of points to your notice before requesting you to help me improve the article.

1. Introduction - I am a new user. I self learned wiki coding and wrote couple of articles and edited a couple of existing ones ( which did take me some time to do ) , related to music and musicians in India. i leanred basics of writing article.

2. About earlier issues with same article you deleted - My last article was flagged by a user named GPL and he raised couple of points. Since wiki encourages discussions and improvement with more skillful and experienced editors , i seeked his advice and i did the needful ( by discussing with him directly on his talk page ), As you can view from article histroy., i deleted a Yahoo.com citation and a california hearld citation upon his advice . later, as suggested by him , i included another article citation as source (where journalist had been credited and was not aa anonymous brand connect written article). Then i republished my article.

3. Deletion by you - I noticed it had been brought to your notice by earlier user and i was asked to submit a clarification on my financial motives behind writing the article - i did reply to your message there as well dismissing any such financial gains on my part.

Now my questions are these. 1. does writing fewer articles mean one is getting paid to do so? because it could very well be the case that my field of knowldge/intrest is only music in bollywood . hence in my limited time i chose to contribute to lesser articles. besides, if one were to gain monetorily from wriritng wiki articles , such person would be writing more number of articles than fewer ( isnt that common sense before we start accusing other NEW novice writers on Wiki as done by the user who reported my article to you ) 2. Will you help me improve this draft space ? with your suggestions ?

NOTE : A consesnus is achieved through discussion and if still disputes are there they can be solved using dispute policies in place. There is no need for one to put down another and speculate negatively of NEW contributors on wiki, as done by the earlier user who reported the matter to you.

Regards Sahiljeet Singh Sahiljeet (talk) 18:17, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Sahiljeet, as near as I can tell, you do not have any deleted pages, other than your userpage (which you requested to be deleted). Could you please link to the page that you feel has been removed? Primefac (talk) 19:03, 30 July 2020 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
(talk page stalker) @Primefac: Sahiljeet's talking about this, but it wasn't deleted, just moved to draft. As Prax's note on his talk page makes abundantly clear... ——Serial 19:21, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

@Sahiljeet: It's probably a poor idea to lecture experienced users-- we know the policies-- thank you very much. The page has been moved to Draft:Shahzeb Tejani as it is not ready for the article mainspace. Thanks, --Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:28, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for clarifying - apologies for using wrong terminology , I meant to say the article is not present anymore. Anyways . I am gonna work on improving it to make it move from draft to main space. And no, I didnt mean to lecture just wanted to clarify my stance so no need to take it that way.

Support and assume things good faith.

Thanks again Sahiljeet (talk) 19:59, 30 July 2020 (UTC)

In case it wasn't otherwise clear, you should go through the review process at WP:AFC. If you choose not to, as Deepfriedokra told you, it will likely be taken to AFD and deleted. Praxidicae (talk) 19:59, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
As an update, Sahiljeet is temporarily blocked for either socking or coordinating promo edits with a promo-only account at Aaryan Banthia (also likely fails notability standards. Best, GPL93 (talk) 19:01, 2 August 2020 (UTC)

SEO books?

On Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yoast SEO multiple users point out books such as WordPress SEO Success: Search Engine Optimization for Your WordPress Website or Blog (Que Publishing), WordPress Search Engine Optimization (Packt), WordPress All-in-One For Dummies (Wiley (publisher)) etc as evidence of notability. To me it looks like trivial coverage. Since I'm not familiar with these types of sources, I want to know your opinion on these and how they contribute to notability, if you have time. Spam Warning Re: SpoiledCabbage.com

Dear Praxidicae, I hope this message finds you and your family well in this time in which we live. I just received a notice from you about spam. I do not understand what you are referring to. I simply added a sentence on a Wiki page dealing with a music album almost identically to those left by Metacritic. SpoiledCabbage.com is a site dedicated to accurately compiling music album reviews similar to how Rotten TOmatos does for movies and tv shows. I am the owner of the site and have been working on it for over two years. I have employed literally dozens of well-trained compilers to search the internet for as many legitimate album reviews for each album. Then, I personally review each album after they are done compiling the reviews. We have a systematic way of determining positive and negative ratings. Anna Burdzy

Hi,

You suggested the page for Anna Burdzy be deleted and I think it now has been because of a lack of third party articles? Please see below for numerous pages, as well as official Miss Universe and Miss Universe GB announcements.

Stop vandalizing Val Whiting's page

I can tell you are trying to demean because you changed her stats, which were sourced. IF you were so concerned about sources, you would have left the stats as they were sourced, but you did not. So it is some vendetta against this athlete. And you are putting in arbitrary numbers for her stats.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jraymond425 (talkcontribs)

Jraymond425 I did not vandalize anything and I strongly advise you cease making personal attacks before you find yourself indefinitely blocked from editing at all. Read the policies and warnings left on your talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 18:43, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
You are vandalizing if you are erasing game stats to a made up number. You don't have a source for the ABL averages. I do. I cited it and you deleted it. You know why you are doing this and it is not in the name of what is right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jraymond425 (talkcontribs) 18:52, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Jraymond425 You're right, because there is no source for any of the stats in the article, nor was there for the promotional nonsense you added. If you insist on calling me a vandal or having an ulterior motive, you can go file a report at WP:AIV or WP:ANI and be sure to provide diffs. Praxidicae (talk) 18:53, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

I sourced the stats and you STILL deleted them and entered a made up number. Why make up a number? The stats were sourced today but you didn't bother to look that up. THe so-called " PRomotional nonsense" was from television interviews and actually from the player herself. It is well know for example that whiting had a baby in 2001 and you deleted that. It is well known that she took a season off for depression, and you deleted that.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jraymond425 (talkcontribs)

You did not provide a reliable source for any of the content you added. Please see yourself away from my talk page since you refuse to engage in a civil manner. If you edit here again, I will request an indefinite block site wide for your account. Praxidicae (talk) 19:06, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Hey Praxidicae, Thank You For Reaching Out!

First of all, I appreciate it for taking the time to assess my article.

To address your concern on paid disclosure agreement: I'm in no way, shape, or form getting paid nor will receive compensation in the future for writing this article. If I were getting paid, I would disclose it, but you could check on my past 2 draft articles that I'm not here in wikipedia looking to earn money. This is part of my passion project, like other Wikipedians have the same goal at—making sure relevant stories are shared.

Next, I must admit that the sources for the article are limited. I only managed to link it either to the person's LinkedIn profile or YouTube. But reading the reference requirement, I understand that those forms are not preferred by Wikipedia as sources.

Could I ask for your advice on what next steps I should take Praxidicae? I would love to make changes right now but decided not to in order to comply with the requirement telling me not to edit further until this matter is resolved.

If you think the article is for deletion, then I respect your decision. Just let me know how I can better write an article next time, it's always exciting to learn from fellow Wikipedian contributors! Jed Silverlake (talk) 03:03, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Shreyan Nayak

Hi dear sir Praxidicae, I'm here to notify you that Shreyan Nayak's Wikipedia page is getting deleted all the time, the times we create it gets deleted and can you tell me the reason why is it getting deleted and why the page is redirecting? Shreyan Nayak is one of the notable actors in the Odia film industry and if you'll provide him protection then I'll be kind enough to thank you for the same. Looking forward to your anticipation.--Masmas19 (talk) 08:39, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Can I know why you are telling me that, I did a disruptive edit? As you know the deletion discussion has extended more than 14 days so far. So then, you all should consider whether the article should be leave as it is OR whether is should be deleted. There are many comments regarding the article should be KEEP without DELETE it. So, what is point behind having the deletion tag for the article for such a long time. Keep mention about that and tell me your lateness. User:Gihan Jayaweera (talk) 8 August 2020 (UTC)

You are not qualified to close the discussion for starters, second you cannot close a discussion you've participated in, third, AFD's may run beyond 7 days, they can run up to 21, fourth you didn't even close it properly and your reasoning was completely incorrect. Do not do so again. Praxidicae (talk) 16:48, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Well then, we will see what happens after 21 days. But, most importantly, I did that because, editors like you are not concern about that page's notability. It has everything needed for Wikipedia. But still the deletion discussion is going on. Why it is so late? User:Gihan Jayaweera (talk) 8 August 2020 (UTC)
I do not care whether it's deleted, kept or tossed into a pit. We have policies and guidelines in place about WP:AFD and controversial deletions in particular need to be handled by an administrator. You are welcome to voice your opinion on the discussion, as you already have but you must refrain from discussing other editors and accusing them of such ridiculous things. You are not permitted to close the discussion as you have already participated in it. Is that clear enough? Praxidicae (talk) 16:57, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Yes, it is crystal clear for me. My point is administrators are too slow to judge about the deletion policies. Anyway as you are not an administrator, I am not telling you to involve in the case. Thank you. User:Gihan Jayaweera (talk) 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Wikipedia doesn't operate on deadlines. Consensus will form when it forms. Your impatience has no bearing on policy or decision making. If you think that I have erred in my reversal of your poorly executed close, you can bring it up for review at WP:ANI. Praxidicae (talk) 17:03, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
I am not impatient. Let them to take the decision. I will refrain from making any edits for that page. No need of reviews. Thank you. User:Gihan Jayaweera (talk) 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Article

i'm sorry @Praxidicae: but could you please bring back my article? i mean what was the problem this time? i added all the references now, this isn't fair!, please just explain, i made this article like five times and y'all keep undo my edits, i added all the info about Gabi as a solo artist, it's completely different than Niki and Gabi so it doesn't have to be a redirect article, there is a lot of group members has an article even when they don't have a solo career, but Gabi DeMartino does, she has a solo career, so please bring it back, thank you. Suspicious

Large chunks of the disputed edits here come verbatim from here, without attribution. The editor in question knows a hell of a lot about formatting and more arcane WP practices than most two-day-old accounts. I see some suspicious overlap here, especially given that the old account was blocked for copyvio. Grandpallama (talk) 18:28, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

Can you explain which "sources can be considered reliable for a child"? Is "Times of India" not reliable to you? Please explain.FlyIndian14 (talk) 14:26, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

It has absolutely no coverage of him and no, TOI is not to be trusted, go read the discussions at WP:RSP and WP:RSN. Praxidicae (talk) 14:27, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
You only tell what is written there as a common user can't understand such long rules in a short time.FlyIndian14 (talk) 14:30, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Then don't edit WP:BLP in mainspace. Incompetence isn't a reason to accept shoddy work. Praxidicae (talk) 14:32, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Why can't you help the users doing some good work in creating and improving articles instead of always deleting, declining etc. Editors like You should also co-operate with the users.FlyIndian14 (talk) 14:36, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Because I can't make reliable sources appear out of thin air. If they do not exist, I can't do anything about it. Stop telling me what I should do and focus on learning how to properly edit Wikipedia. Praxidicae (talk) 14:37, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
It's not our job to edit Wikipedia. We dedicate some good time to a article so that a article that is notable should get it's due and By The Way how much research you did to clearly say that there are no reliable sources. If these sources are not reliable, then more than 90% articles from Wikipedia should be deleted.FlyIndian14 (talk) 14:41, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
FlyIndian14 It's not anyone's job to edit Wikipedia, including me, please stop the lecturing and go read WP:BLP and WP:V. Praxidicae (talk) 14:42, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
Respected Editor, If it's not your job, then who gave you the right to delete the article created by work of many.FlyIndian14 (talk) 14:45, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
For a final time WP:BLP and WP:V are policies. That is what gives me the ability to redirect an unsourced or poorly sourced BLP, especially that of a minor child. Praxidicae (talk) 14:46, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

RE: Speedy deletion

Greetings! Today I wrote my first article on the anglophone Wikipedia, and it was sent to speedy deletion by you. I would like to know if the main problem was just the unambiguous advertising or notoriety, because I inted to rewrite the article and republish it. I am a very experienced editor on the lusophone Wikipedia and would like to have a similar reputation over here as well. Thank you! Bad Boy97 (talk) 14:57, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @Bad Boy97: This is not the Portugese Wikipedia - your edits here are expected to conform with our local policies. You should read WP:NPOV, WP:RS and WP:GNG, at the very least. -- a they/them | argue | contribs 17:02, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
@Alfie: I know it isn't the lusophone Wikipedia (the right term to be used), reason why I came here and asked for Praxidicae's insight. Bad Boy97 (talk) 19:39, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Recommendation about LendingPoint

Hello, Praxidicae. I happened to click "Recent changes" today, and I saw your large deletion of content from LendingPoint right at the top of the list (only a second or two old), and so I looked at what was happening there. Wow! It took maybe 15 seconds to see that this article has been taken care of (since its inception) by paid communications consultants and public relations representatives. And yet, here I am, thinking that I might want to try to "rescue" that article and make it conform to a true Wikipedia structure. (I have no affiliation whatsoever with LendingPoint, any of its subsidiaries, or suppliers.)

I conceive of a few different approaches that someone like me could take. One way would be to remove 95% of the text and just start from scratch. Another way would be to go through the article one sentence at a time, removing content that had no sourcing (or weak sourcing, like press releases) if a suitably proper source could not be found for the content. A third way would be to just back away slowly and forget about it, because why would I want to help LendingPoint have a good and compliant article on Wikipedia?

Do you have any advice on this? (P.S. You may remember my User name from a bit of a "run-in" I inadvertently reacted to yesterday with another editor, disagreeing with how I had "Draftified" a seemingly self-promotional biography by a budding young Contemporary Christian music artist. I promise, I'm not stalking you -- your edit literally came up at the top of my check of Recent changes.) - AppleBsTime (talk) 22:15, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

(talk page watcher) @AppleBsTime: In all honesty, I don't expect this article would survive AfD once you've stripped out the press-releases and other crap sources. There's just... no meat to it. -- a they/them | argue | contribs 08:53, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

I and the creating editor have a difference of opinion on reliablity of the sources in the article being discussed. There are 'competing' source assessment tables. Your thoughts are usually incisive. I make no case for either opinion. Fiddle Faddle 09:30, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Deletion of Kojo Yankson

Hello Praxidicae,

Pleased to make your acquaintance. I am messaging about the deletion of the page "Kojo Yankson". I am new to Wikipedia and still learning the navigations of this platform so to be honest I did not really understand the reasons for deletion. Kojo Yankson is one of the most prominent radio hosts in Ghana and hosting one of the most listened to morning shows, The Joy FM Super Morning Show, which he has been doing for 4 years. The show has been running since the year 2000 and all the past hosts for the show have Wikipedia pages (Komla Dumor, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Francis Abban, to name a few). He was also listed as of the 100 most influential people in Ghana so it surprises me that you say he is non-notable, maybe I just need to understand why you say so. There are radio hosts with much smaller shows and followings that have Wikipedia pages so I'm thinking that maybe I just didn't create the page properly. I also just saw that there were previous versions of this page that were deleted in 2015 on the same basis but I can understand that because it had only been a year since he began. In current times however, he has gathered a faithful following and is quite well known in Ghana. He also does news anchoring and reporting on one of Ghana's top news outlets, JoyNews. Currently he is one of the top paid journalists at Multimedia Ghana which owns Joy FM and JoyNews because he hosts their flagship show. However there are less known journalists of Multimedia that have Wikipedia pages. Multimedia Ghana owns many of the well listened to channels in Ghana (TV & Radio) and so Kojo Yankson being a top member shows the value the company places on him. This convinces me that it was probably how I went about creating the page that was the issue. I created a draft and submitted it for review and then when I learned I could publish after 4 days I went ahead and did. I didn't realize that that annoys the reviewers. My sincerest apologies for my novice behaviour. I would really appreciate your input and help on how I can properly recreate this page and what I can do to prevent another deletion. I would also like for you to point out to me the specific points in the article that were considered non-notable so that I can correct or improve them. The interface of this platform still confuses me a little so I would really appreciate the assistance. Thank you so much for you help and patience.

Not moving page titled Jasraj again. However, it is incorrect...and highly sensitive today

The article is about an eminent Indian Classical singer popularly known as "PANDIT JASRAJ". He has died today and I expect that a lot of music lovers will visit this page. They will not like to see "JASRAJ" as the title as it is considered an insult to address th:is eminent musician simply by his first name Jasraj. The popular and "appropriate" title is JASRAJ. To quote from the policy you mentioned, "There are some exceptions: Where an honorific is so commonly attached to a name that the name is rarely found in English reliable sources without it, it should be included. For example, the honorific may be included for Mother Teresa." Swapnil (talk) 14:24, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

His fans feelings are irrelevant to Wikipedia. We do not put titles or honorifics in article titles. Praxidicae (talk) 14:24, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
Okay, go make your case on the talk page, then. It's been a GA for years and the article has been at Jasraj for years. You can't make sweeping changes without consensus. Praxidicae (talk) 14:30, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Making my case again, as you directed. 1: The page may have existed for years without including "Pandit" in the title. So, that's valid but how many people need to ask for this change and which channel can be used for it, in order for you to accept this change. 2: To quote from the policy you mentioned, "There are some exceptions: Where an honorific is so commonly attached to a name that the name is rarely found in English reliable sources without it, it should be included. For example, the honorific may be included for Mother Teresa." I think "pandit" comes under that category. 3: "Sentiment of fans" may have come out completely wrong. The change I am asking for is in keeping with the traditions of the Indian Classical Music. It is insulting to call him "Jasraj". If you don't understand the Indian context here, I welcome you to refer this case to someone familiar with the Indian culture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Swapnildixit (talkcontribs) 14:36, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

Swapnildixit do it on the talk page of the article not my talk page. You cannot get consensus on my talk page. Praxidicae (talk) 14:38, 17 August 2020 (UTC)
