Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits are considered vandalism and immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop. If you continue to delete or blank page contents or templates from Wikipedia, as you did to Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, you will be blocked from editing. NW036 20:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Please stop[edit]

Regarding the message you left recently on my talk page, I'm assuming you're referring to the edits on Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. Please review the article's edit history; several other editors believe your recent edits to fall within the bounds of vandalism on Wikipedia. I am willing to assume good faith that you may be working to improve the article, but so far all I see are content removals and I do not see an earnest effort to add to the history of the organization related in that article. If you disagree with the content in the article, the proper place to discuss the issue is that article's talk page.

Since my last contact with you was on February 15, I think your current displeasure is misdirected. Slambo (Speak) 20:25, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. To avoid problems in the future, you may want to start editing by placing {{inuse}} at the top of the article as your first edit. The template, which is intended to cover an editing time period of up to a few hours, indicates that major updates are in progress so most editors will hold off on reverting large scale updates. Copyvio on Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters page[edit]

Prince Par—thanks for not writing over the text of the article on the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters. But the text you have added still presents a problem, since it is lifted almost verbatim from a February 1, 2001 article by Pia Sarkar for the San Francisco Chronicle. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2001/02/01/MN140578.DTL

This sort of copyright violation is taken very seriously by Wikipedia editors; I know because I had an article deleted when it appeared that it was taken from a newspaper article (as it turns out, it was the other way around; they passed off the Wikipedia article as their own). I have therefore deleted the addition you made, because it puts the entire article in jeopardy.

The addition is also not suitable for this article. It repeats, in a format suitable for a newspaper article but not an encyclopedia entry, some of the facts already provided in the main part of the article. I have kept the part that is new, the existence of a museum devoted to Randolph and the Union in Chicago. Italo Svevo 03:03, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
