Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Icabod Flewellen. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. There are very clear details and instruction on how to deal with the copyright violation dispute on the Icabod Flewellen page. Please follow them and, if it was you who posted the text to my talk page, please don't paste your disputed mainspace text into a user page as it will only annoy any editor,unless they request it. This is considered vandalism and may get you blocked. Because you are a registered user please use that account and follow the instructions and maybe your article will be allowed but because your edit on the anonIP page claims that you have written the text it will likely be considered a conflict of interest and besides which you have provided no verifiable sources, so that too mitigates against your edit. Sorry, but verifiability is the cornerstone of Wikipedia. I am also posting this on the anonIP account that I assume, perhaps inaccurately,that you used too for the same purpose of promoting the Icabod Flewellen page. If you and the anon IP are different people please ignore this post but please take onboard the advise given about verifiability, COI and copyright. ww2censor (talk) 02:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you've been adding your signature to some of your article contributions, such as you did to Icabod Flewellen. This is a simple mistake to make and is easy to correct. For future reference, the need to associate edits with users is taken care of by an article's edit history. Therefore, you should use your signature only when contributing to talk pages, the Village Pump, or other such discussion pages. Hi! Just trying to help. Here's another version of copyright permission instructions. Technically it isn't really a problem with copyright as such; it's a problem of proving that there's no copyright problem. I hope the following standard instructions help (not sure if you got these already):

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at [[Talk:{{{pg}}}]] and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at [[Talk:{{{pg}}}]] with a link to where we can find that note.
If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on [[Talk:{{{pg}}}]].

However, for text content, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia.

I saw your comments on the helpdesk, but couldn't quite make out what it is you are trying to do, or indeed what exactly it is what is causing difficulties, apart from that it has to do with copyright violations.
