File permission problem with File:Provident Credit Union Company Logo, since 2013.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Provident Credit Union Company Logo, since 2013.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 22:10, 2 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Provident2014. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:34, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Provident Credit Union Branch Locations.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. December 2014[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Provident2014, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Drmies (talk) 00:55, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is not an appropriate username, as it indicates that you would continue to use Wikipedia for edits that contravene the guidelines on advertising and conflict of interest. Kinu t/c 20:54, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. --Kinu t/c 20:54, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for your patience since I'm new to this. I have read Wikipedia's policy clearly understand and abide to the following questions:

I understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory. The information Im placing is only informative and not for any other reason. I understand conflict of interest. Im not getting paid or doing work for anyone to build this Wikipedia page. Provident Credit Union has a history of teachers unity to form the credit union. This information is a history of California. Also, I understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable. All information on the page Im building has creditable information with sources and links to other Wikipedia pages. I would like to correct the username and change it to Thank you for your time. As you intend to continue to violate WP:COI - even though you claim to understand it - there is no plausible reason to unblock the panda ₯’ 00:26, 25 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have answered the 3 questions asked of me above. Please unblock me so that I can submit the page I created. Thank youProvident2014 (talk) 18:18, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but there are only so many people who can unblock and a lot of requests. Please stay patient. Also, only one unblock is allowed at a time. Origamite 22:05, 24 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for your response. I believe that my change in user name what declined. I read and understand the COI page and I do not fit this category. Can you please advise on what exactly is incorrect? Thank you Provident2014 (talk) 18:01, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Huon's comment, below. Given that you have previously requested a username of "Marketingforthebay2014", it seems you have a conflict of interest that you haven't addressed. PhilKnight (talk) 10:47, 30 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A moment ago you wanted to name your account "Marketing for the bay", and now you claim that you don't have a conflict of interest, at all? Somehow that doesn't fit. Huon (talk) 16:09, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I understand the confusion but like i mentioned, i was not aware of the username policy and once I knew I request a change to itsjustme00. I'm very knew to this and i have read all the policys and do not understand what else I'm able to do to become and editor. The previous user name I requested 'Marketing for the bay'reference to my education and location, not my intentions. If I can get better guidence on what further steps I need to do it would be helpful. I starting to feel discouraged.Provident2014 (talk) 22:55, 31 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem here is your intention to submit an article about a topic that you're connected to, namely Provident Credit Union. If you agree to a new name and to stay away from the topic, you stand a better chance of being unblocked, as opposed to being blocked from even your talk page. Origamite 19:54, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanking for your advise. I do want to change the user name and would like to choose a different topic.Provident2014 (talk) 23:25, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what are you interested in? What are your hobbies? Origamite 13:57, 16 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Origamite. I have many hobbies, but enjoy traveling and hiking.Provident2014 (talk) 23:47, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Aren't there some articles that could use improvement on hiking trails and the like? If you were unblocked with a new username, would you help with those, instead of trying to submit an article on Provident? Origamite 04:21, 25 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
