promotional? how?[edit]

i fail to see how it was advertising. The Mirror, is Malton's newspaper, that is a fact, not an advertisement. Tuvok649 (talk) 15:20, 16 January 2010 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tuvok649 (talkcontribs) 15:13, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I was way too harsh. The italicization of the "the" set me off, but sure, feel free to add back the section. –Psbsub (talk) 09:46, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

-It's okay, i welcome the feedback though, on how it was written. I will not italicize 'the'. If you have any other pointers, i'm all ears. Tuvok649 (talk) 16:11, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a FYI- It can been marked as Pure Vandalism, due to blatant misinformation. Pretty obvious that it's all fake. Thanks --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 04:04, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for explaining the Pure Vandalism category. Psbsub (talk) 04:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyright issue with Highway 69 (Ontario)[edit]

I meant to quote the website, not take its material. I will fix this issue immediately. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. The owner of TheKingsHighway.ca knows i'm not trying to commit copyright infringement or steal his data. RingtailedFoxTalkContribs 15:03, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[edit]

Can you tell me why you edit conflicted me and warned User 58.168.103.176 before me? I reverted the edit, you should not try and jump over other editors and beat them to the post. — Deon555talkI'm BACK! 10:29, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I use WP:TW to make semi-automated edits and didn't notice that you already reverted the edit. I'll keep a closer eye on the messages from now on.

Who do I think I am?[edit]

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.72.56.14 (talk) 13:39, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think I'm a human being, as opposed to a bot, even though I might act like one.

about Wikimapia page[edit]

Hi, why do you rolled back to the previous revision in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WikiMapia? I just delete information about "commercial, privately owned company" and update statistics. All companies in the world are privately owned, it's not the reason to write this information just after the title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Budyakov (talkcontribs) 09:30, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not every company in the world is privately owned. Creative commons organizations are held in a public trust. Decisions are made by the public instead of by fiat by the owners. Wikimapia is privately owned and they specifically state in their terms of service agreement that they can add fees whenever they want. Please check the link and read the service agreement. There is a common misconception that Wikimapia will always be free and people think they are contributing to a perpetually free resource. That is not true and you are perpetuating that misconception by stating that it is free "at any time." Openstreetmaps is creative commons. Wikipedia is creative commons. Wikimapia is not.Peace01234 (talk) 09:22, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Clean-up templates[edit]

Just to let you know that most clean-up templates, like "{{Unreferenced}}", "{{Fact}}" (Citation needed) and "{{Weasel words}}" etc., are best not "subst"ed . See WP:SUBST for more details. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 17:31, 29 November 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:31, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What did you think about the deletion notice you received?[edit]

Hi Psbsub, You recently received a message about either "Nomination for deletion" or "Proposed deletion" of an article you created. I'd like to ask you a few quick questions:

  1. Was the message helpful? Were the instructions clear and easy to follow?
  2. If not, how do you think the message could be improved?
  3. What do you think about the deletion process in general? Do you understand how to contest a deletion?

You can feel free to answer on my talk page or send me your response by email (mpinchuk@wikimedia.org). (I won't quote you or link your answers to your username if you don't feel comfortable with that.) Your feedback is incredibly useful for improving the content of deletion notifications, so please take a minute to think about and answer these questions. Thank you!
