Reception vs. Legacy

Hello. I was wondering the difference between "Reception" and "Legacy". Regine Velasquez's article has a section entitled "Legacy" while the articles of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto just say "Reception and acting style". I saw the article histories of Santos and Barretto, and I saw some IP edits that change the sections to "Legacy" but you reverted those and reported to WP:ANI, and requested page protection for these articles. What do the sections "Reception" and "Legacy" mean? RMXY (talkcontribs) 01:56, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Reception and acting style subheadings are generally used for actor BLPs, since this provides context on how the subject's body of work has been perceived by critics, reviewers, journalist and by the media in general; and provides attribution to the publication or reviewers that discussed so. Legacy can be used for actors who have died and have left behind notable or celebrated body of work, or those living actors that have high-profile status and whose careers have spanned several decades. It's too soon for someone like Santos or Barretto to have such subheadings. For musicians, a "Legacy" subheading is their influence on a younger generation or something that is a part of history or that remains from an earlier time, or what has been written in the text books or academic/scholarly sources. Def too soon for singers like Kyla, Geronimo, Quinto, etc. Pseud 14 (talk) 19:35, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Re-approve DYK nom?

Hey, could you re-approve this nom? I was falsely flagged as needing a second QPQ and the editor who said so was told here and here to fix their edits in these situations, but they still haven't done so. -- ZooBlazer 15:43, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

Never mind. Doesn't look like their edit actually messed up the approval. False alarm. -- ZooBlazer 15:55, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
@ZooBlazer: no worries, I've added a note on it too. Hopefully that helps, I too didn't know about this, until an editor brought it up. So everyone is on the same boat. :) Pseud 14 (talk) 16:02, 17 March 2024 (UTC)

B&B

Hey there! Btw I just have several comments, I thought it's better to post here since it'd be awkward at the nom. First, do you think this pic can be used in at least one of the article, as a kind of variation? I don't see any licensing issues with it. And second, shouldn't Philippine English be singular when concerning collective nouns. Thanks!! GeraldWL 04:11, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Hey GWL, I have some reservations with using images that are self-published work. Although the default is to WP:AGF on own-work claims, this might raise questions during an image review, and the images currently used have more reliable licensing tags. As for your second query, I believe there is no absolute rule concerning collective nouns to be singular in Philippine English, as far as I'm aware. Collective nouns can be plural or singular. Nothing that was a cause of concern during FAC/FLC apart from usage being consistent in verb agreement. Since I wrote the other articles in the plural form and noticed that the discography article was not, I made copyedits for consistency. Pseud 14 (talk) 14:17, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi Pseud 14, hope everything’s good. I was wondering if you could leave some comments at my FAC for the Aston Martin DB9 article? This is my first FAC, and the source review and image review are done. Best,  750h+ | Talk  15:52, 17 April 2024 (UTC)

Hey 750h+, congrats on your first FAC and best of luck! Sure, I'd be happy to have look in the next day or so. Pseud 14 (talk) 16:50, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Yes thanks! Sorry about this I’m just extremely impatient, and given this is my first FAC it’s pretty nerve racking. Anyways thanks for this!  750h+ | Talk  16:59, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
No worries 750h+, I absolutely hear ya and I've been there. You're still looking good time-wise. It hasn't been a week yet and as an FYI, FACs can generally be as short as 3-4 weeks or sometimes as long as two months or more, depending on what comes up during the reviews. So expect either scenario. I would also advice that you def bring a ton of patience regardless. Sometimes reviews/suggestions are a matter of stylistic preference, I would avoid being too combative if you feel you have to disagree, be diplomatic and provide your reasoning as to why. At the end of the day, compromises have to be made. Pseud 14 (talk) 17:17, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for this, I, despite what I said, don’t particularly mind how long it takes as long as I see promotion then that’s really all.  750h+ | Talk  17:22, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
