WP:Films Welcome[edit]
Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter. The newsletter for January has been published. February's issue is currently in production; it will be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
- Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
- Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Warcraft Storyline, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Adoption Program[edit]
Hello again and welcome to the adoption program!
Please take some time to think about what you would like out of this program and what you can devote to it. After you have thought about this please message me on my talk page about which areas you would like to focus on. As well, if you are completely new or you are not sure, you can let me know that and I can give you a general overview. You will get as much as you put in with this program. If you would like me to be someone that you can ask questions to every once and a while, then thats who i'll be. Yet, if you wish to be in constant contact with me and have me go over your work with you each day or so, then thats who i will be. This is your choice, just please let me know :P

video games[edit]
ay buddy, I have the place for you! go check out this. Its a group of people on wikipedia who all come together to further the information and range of pages about video games that we have on wikipedia! they have conversations about the cool new things that they are doing, things they are getting done, requested pages to make, all sorts of things! check it out and get back to me when you find something more focused that you want to work on. video games is a HUGE category, so take some time... look through that group and see if you can tell me some specific video games and sections you want to work on! Maybe after reading that, go search for your favorite video games to see if they have articles and read through them. let me know if you come upon something that you want to improve that you know alot about! good luck! let me know how things go! - Good stuff, it looks like you can do alot with that article! if you like you could copy that article into one of your subpages and work on it there... that way we can go over it and look through it before you save it on the real page. does that sound good ? also, yes defiantly dont copy anything word for word, because there is no reason in having it twice, yet if you wish just to take some ideas from other article that are relevant to your topic and you incorporate your own ideas with it, then there will be no problem. for that kind of stuff i do suggest that you make a separate page so that others can read through it first, because often its hard for the reader to determine if its "different enough" from the article he took it from. let me know what you think. - no problem buddy, i'm here to answer your questions so no worries. alright first thing, check out the page on copy editing. second, you are allowed to have subpages. subpages are additional pages that are linked to your user page that you can use for testing and developing new pages without having to save it on the actual page first. To create a subpage, mere make a link to the page you want to have something like this User:Pvd21/testing and it will show up red. click into it and create the page and save it, now you have your personal subpage for testing that article in! that way others can check it out and give you commentary on it and you dont have to worry about people reverting it or editing it until your done. cool ? did i explain it better ? if not let me know : ) Matthew Yeager 14:14, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

checked out the article... MUCH IMPROVED, good stuff buddy. be sure to check to ensure that you meant to have those 2 red links and that you plan on making them. as well, be sure to check out citing a page here,Wikipedia:Citing_sources, as it is required. [1] first and cite your source and any other sources you can find (the instruction books of the games that had background maybe, the websites...) and it shows you how to do it on the wiki page. a w\quick explaination of this would be to (after the content you need to cite) you put <ref>where you found this information at.</ref> and then at the end of the page put<reference/>

- btw, yes when you have that all finished you just take everything in your page and copy it into the real page and save. always be sure to check out the talk pages to make sure there is not a current conflict going on and to ensure no one will be upset if you change some things. good to go[edit]
page looks excellent and you may remove the "stub" tag as well! a stub is only a few sentences that needs its own section but is very small and has much more info to be added. you have done that. the subject looks quite full and no longer needs that tag. good stuff, replace the article without the stub tag on the original page whenever you feel ready. be sure to add an edit summary explaining your changes. flash files[edit]
Wikipedia doesnt want to discourage any user from visiting its' site. With that, any thing that would restrict that is not allowed. This includes things that are only viewable for one browser or certain files, like flash files that require the person to have a player or software that they may not have. I would agree that flash files would make Wikipedia more user friendly for those that have flash, but would be horrible for those that dont. the closest thing they do allow is like the chess game you see on my user page where its a series of still frames... you could look into that, instead, i suppose. let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello, I see that you have copied my page (Just like your adopter, who actually is really bad at wikipedia). Please, try and make it so that it doesn't look like mine. Thank you. Your user page[edit]
Even though all text published under Wikipedia is under a GFDL license, it is impolite copying others userpages without permission. Consider making a note saying who the page was ripped from as seen here at the bottom of Durin and here User:Real96.

Fair use rationale for Image:Vampyres.jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vampyres.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
