August 2013[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm A.amitkumar. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions, such as the one you made with this edit to Uranus, because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks.  A m i t  웃   19:25, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Please return to this page and take a look at my point on its talk page i.e. archived months should be listed 1st of month to last day, not last day to 1st of month, as per established convention. It needs reversing day by day. Thanks. 86.112.67.18 (talk) 22:52, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I know it is exciting to be the "first" to to do things on Wikipedia, but there are protocols to follow. Please leave major projects to those of us who have done articles like this for a very long time. — Wyliepedia 02:50, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Did you see the message I left on 86.112.67.18's talk page?

(I decided not to both split the page and reverse the order of entries in one edit as there would be a higher chance of edit conflicts)

"Hi, thanks for your message, I did know the correct order and intended to change it, but my internet went off. I'll correct it now. Q6637p (talk) 23:14, 6 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Never mind, seems someone has already corrected it. Q6637p (talk) 23:16, 6 April 2014 (UTC)"[reply]
"I decided not to both split the page and reverse the order of entries in one edit as there would be a higher chance of edit conflicts". This is exactly why I mention protocols. Some of us have it down to a science and can have it done within minutes. And no, I stick to one user talkpage. — Wyliepedia 09:05, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK thanks for letting me know. I had looked at the rules and did not see anything saying the edits had to be done in one edit. Thanks for correcting me.Q6637p (talk) 00:03, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It's best, if you want a system (as with creating/adding to new pages) to do mass additions like that, to do it all in your User sandbox. I do that sporadically, save it, and it prevents others from intruding. Then, if someone does the actual article at the same time, all you've lost is that creation time and no real data. — Wyliepedia 10:24, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. I'll bear that in mind for future major edits. Thanks! Q6637p (talk) 17:54, 8 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 7[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Deaths in March 2014, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Viborg (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:56, 7 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More care please[edit]

Please do not undertake a page move like this [1] in future. That is not how deaths are moved at the end of a month. You removed important talk archives in the process. Thanks. WWGB (talk) 01:35, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
