Harington and Leslie's engagement

What do you mean that we should wait for a comment from them? Their engagement has been announced and various reliable sources including BBC have reported it. I'm sure that if it was only a rumor, a reliable source like BBC wouldn't have reported it. By the way, their names have appeared in the Times newspaper on the section for upcoming marriages. Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great teamwork with others. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Buster7 submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I would like to nominate QueerFilmNerd for being one of a group of editors that displayed excellent teamwork. Discussions, consultations, deliberations and concessions are the benchmarks of editors working toward a common goal. One of the more challenging editing tasks is to manage and manipulate input into an article that is in flux, an article that's "real life history" is developing daily. Such an article was the recent March For Our Lives. The team of editors, of which QueerFilmNerd was a part, deserve separate individual recognition as Editors of the Week because they came together and worked on the maps, before and after the event, and they did a fantastic job. One need only look at Talk:March For Our Lives#Maps to see the positive interactions that resulted in a timely and quality addition to the encyclopedia.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

Information icon Hello, I'm Nigos. Your recent edit to the page Alyson Stoner appears to have added incorrect information, so it has been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Changing "this" to "the" changes its meaning. You've been reverted. I'd rather not keep making semi-protected edit requests, so would you mind engaging with Roxy on my behalf? --85.211.212.153 (talk) 16:48, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

I'm not engaging in an edit war or argument with her. If you have a problem with it, talk about it on the talk page.--QueerFilmNerdtalk 16:54, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
I was absolutely not suggesting that you engage in an edit war, or a discussion that is not constructive. --85.211.212.153 (talk) 23:00, 24 June 2018 (UTC)

Undoing an edit being continuously made.

Sorry to bother you, but since you responded to my message on Ashley Johnson's page about an un-sourced role on the Loud House for an episode that has yet to air. I've noticed an anonymous user continues to add it back with no source. He did so today as of this message and I went ahead and undid it. I was wondering if I could get permission to do this until the episode airs and the character's voice actor is confirmed? Just so the user doesn't complain and tries to ban me. --Bee Sharpe (talk) 03:17, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

If he keeps being persistent go to WP:RFPP and ask for the page to be protected for disruptive editing. QueerFilmNerdtalk 03:48, 20 July 2018 (UTC)

Please take a closer look

Helo QFN. Please note that I was reverting to the last stable version (and yes I understand that it needs work) of the List of awards and nominations received by Meryl Streep (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs). There is also a discussion on the talk page and per WP:BRD that should come to a consensus before anything else is done. My gravest concern is that the SPA editor has created a massive copyvio with their copypastes from the articles for the awards. I understand that you were not aware of this before you made your edit. I also understand that you may disagree but I wanted to let you know what was happening. Thanks for your time. MarnetteD|Talk

I understand, as I said on the talk page, you also reverted the inclusion of a lot of citations that someone's been adding. I agree, we should come to a consensus before anything else is reverted. If you want to edit out the descriptions, I'd recommend keeping the citations because without them the page has very few. The citations are good, if anything. QueerFilmNerdtalk 19:47, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi! I'm not saying via my revert that your edit was not correct, but rather that I don't feel we should say that the root cause of the medical emergency that LAPD has confirmed was related to heroin until another source confirms it. Right now, all of the Google results that I've seen about the story all cite TMZ. As I expressed on the article's Talk page, they've gotten pretty good at this sort of thing over the years, but I'd still feel more comfortable not putting heroin as the cause in a BLP until we have at least a second reliable source for that. StrikerforceTalk 20:37, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

Oh of course, that's completely fine. I'm definitely fine waiting a bit more for another RS to confirm. If we wait a bit, her PR team team or agent might put out a statement. QueerFilmNerdtalk 20:40, 24 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello Yilloslime. Since the closure of the AN3 both you and Yilloslime are continuing to revert the lead, regarding the 'activist' term. It seems that a discussion is now running on the talk page. If you or the other party makes any further reverts before the discussion reaches a conclusion, blocks are likely. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 17:11, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

I wasn't planning to make anymore reverts, the last revert I made was reverting a change that was made before a decision was made. I have no issues with the LEDE as of now. QueerFilmNerdtalk 20:08, 7 August 2018 (UTC)

Please can you revert on Nicole Maines

Yillowslime has reverted to their preferred wording of the introduction when they have not engaged in the discussion on the talk page of any discussion. They are engaged in a slow burn on the article of being a disruptive user. You don't generally seem to care on the specific content as long as it is reached by consensus. Yillowslime appears not to want to be constructive. They have not engaged on the talk page since 7 October. This is also their MO of Revert and impose first and discuss second. They have been warned previously regarding this. It needs to be made clear this is an unacceptable carry-on. I woudl revert myself but the page is protected and I am unable to. Thank you. 91.110.126.37 (talk) 22:08, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

You were careless when you added a new row to the table. I cleaned-up after you. In the future, please read the page notice that appears in both visual and source editing screens, and follow the instructions. I also fixed your related addition in List of dramatic television series with LGBT characters. (Some of us have worked really hard in getting these lists into shape and in an order that can be followed by everyone, and it's bad enough when IP-only editors don't pay attention. Also, using Visual Editor is not advisable for adding new rows or cells to tables - see Limitations). Thanks. Pyxis Solitary yak 08:37, 29 October 2018 (UTC)

Metacritic's "normalized" scores

Hi QueerFilmNerd. Thanks for your contributions to film articles. I notice that you follow a pattern that goes back many years of describing Metacritic's scores as "normalized". I'd like to ask you to consider using weighted average instead. It's far more accurate. Please see the discussion at WT:Manual of Style/Film/Archive 6#Metacritic's so-called "normalized" scores. The word "normalized" was used years ago on Wikipedia to describe Metacritic's scores, and editors have duplicated the wording since then without actually understanding the meaning. Some of us have been trying to correct this over the years, and we've made some headway. Many articles now do not use the word "normalized". If you could use "weighted average" instead, it would save us the trouble of having to fix it. Thanks! 75.182.115.183 (talk) 23:32, 22 November 2018 (UTC)

Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you for the grammatical edits on the Game of Thrones page "The Last of the Starks"! I am an autistic English teacher who is constantly editing grammar on wikipedia. Sources needed for Days of the Year pages

I see you recently accepted a pending change to May 10 that did not include a direct source.

You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the content guideline and the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. I've gone ahead and un-accepted this edit and backed it out.

All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, please do not accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 22:09, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for letting me know! I'll keep this in mind for the future, apologies! QueerFilmNerdtalk 22:44, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

Infobox musical artist and associated acts

Per the documentation for Template:Infobox musical artist:

The following uses of this field should be avoided: Groups with only one member in common, Association of producers, managers, etc. (who are themselves acts) with other acts (unless the act essentially belongs to the producer, as in the case of a studio orchestra formed by and working exclusively with a producer), One-time collaboration for a single song, Groups that have played or toured together as separate acts, Groups that are merely similar. Regarding the revision you accepted at Carly Rae Jepsen, the related IP has a history of adding associated acts in violation of this. Perhaps they can be re-added if there's sufficient evidence of association (i.e. acts who toured with Jepsen). Jalen Folf (talk) 05:14, 17 November 2019 (UTC)

Saoirse Ronan edits

User:QueerFilmNerd I feel as though the adding of her clinic drama debut could be used in either her early life or career section and not in the short description. Also the inclusion of two poorly reviewed films, I Could Never be your woman and Byzantium seem to be irrelevant additions. Why add them in the short description?

Peace Dove

Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, peoples rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. December 2019

You have made edits to the Portrait of a Lady on Fire article that have been careless. Two examples: 01:09, 8 December (merging BIFA award into Cannes FF) and 17:05, 17 December (reverting a correctly made edit). I get that you are enthusiastic and very interested in the subject, but careless editing results in disruptive edits. You've been a registered user since 29 March 2017. Little Women

Regarding the undoing of the edit for Little Women, there are probably two things that should definitely be in there that aren't. One of these if the unclarity regarding whom Meg marries and when. Secondly, it is mentioned that Beth's condition worsened, but it is not indicated that she had one. Secondly, it describes her dying BEFORE her earlier recovery. This is not how it happened in the movie.

Then change it and make sure the summary is under 700 words. There is no way that the summary needs to be over 700 words for any reason. I did my best with the summary, change it while keeping the summary under 700 words. QueerFilmNerdtalk 04:55, 14 January 2020 (UTC)

Never Rarely Sometimes Always - Why delete the Kieth Merrill critique? / Reversions

QFN - Do you agree with removing the criticism of Kieth Merrill? Ok if not. The summary as written implies the first visit and pregnancy test established 10 week gestation. I'll own odd wording perhaps but better. I'll leave it as is to avoid 3RR but I think your limiting the depiction of this film and I'm not entirely sure why. I don't find it better as is.Wiki.12022017 (talk) 02:20, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

Fan editor research interview

Hey, hey, QFN! I don't believe we've interacted before on here, so first things first, but my name is Gen. Quon. I'm an editor who works largely on articles about TV shows, and right now, I'm also working on my PhD dissertation in library science. My project is looking at the information behaviors of fan editors (here's a more detailed overview of my project, if you'd like to read more about it). I've been messaging Wikipedia editors to see if they might be willing to share their experiences with me. Given your interest in film, I was wondering if you'd be interested in chatting with me about your information experiences here on Wikipedia. The questions would focus on topics like "where do you get your info", "how do you determine if certain info is what you need?, etc.? I'm more than happy to send over additional details through Wikipedia's email tool, if you'd like.--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 16:17, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello! I'm not super active atm in editing (just because I've gotten super busy), but I'd be very happy to talk to you about editing as entertainment articles take up about 99% of what I edit! QueerFilmNerdtalk 19:45, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
@QueerFilmNerd: That is great to hear (as a fellow pop culture editor, I salute you)! Do you have the Wikipedia email feature activated? I can send you more info about the project that way if you'd like.--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 20:27, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Yep! It should be enabled! QueerFilmNerdtalk 21:29, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
@QueerFilmNerd: It looks like it might still be deactivated.--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 22:19, 11 February 2022 (UTC)
Oh yep, my bad! Should be enabled now! QueerFilmNerdtalk 01:14, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
No prob! Email has been sent. Thanks!--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 16:08, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
@QueerFilmNerd: A quick note: If it's easier for you, I could also just email you the questions. You could then respond when you are able and send the answers back my way through email. Just an option.--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 16:07, 23 February 2022 (UTC)
Yes, that would work perfectly for me! If you received my email that I sent you from my personal account a little bit ago, you're free to just email that if you're comfortable! I'm not totally familiar with the Wikipedia emailing system! But just send the questions my way and I'm happy to answer them! QueerFilmNerdtalk 10:03, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
@QueerFilmNerd: Awesome! Can you tell me when you sent it over? My email seems to be having some weirdness on my end.--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 14:59, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Of course! It's been sent! I re-sent it using my university email so hopefully that works! QueerFilmNerdtalk 21:15, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Got it! I also realize I tagged the wrong editor initially in my last reply. Oops!--Gen. Quon[Talk](I'm studying Wikipedia!) 15:01, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Deletion review

In 2019 you participated in a discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Plastique Tiara, which resulted in a consensus to redirect to RuPaul's Drag Race (season 11). I have now taken the article to deletion review, at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2022 September 28#Plastique Tiara. I am informing everyone who participated in the deletion discussion, except two indef-blocked accounts and an IP address which last edited two years ago, in case they would like to contribute to the deletion review. Hello, QueerFilmNerd,
Why did you create a draft article on Danielle Haim when there is 10 year old main space article on her? Liz Read! Talk! 04:04, 4 July 2023 (UTC)
The page had been previously deleted due to lack of notability outside of her work with her sisters but evidently someone else made a page for her. I just never got around to doing anything with the oage. QueerFilmNerdtalk 05:21, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
