BMW III & IIIA[edit]

I think that the BMW III & IIIa could probably be merged. It seems you have quite a bit of the back story on the personalities involved in the development of that engine that I do not have. The book I have really doesn't go into much detail other than the basic technical specifications. The technical specifications for both engines appears to be the same.

User Page Update[edit]

Thanks so much for offering to help me. So, how do we start? lol. I'm a little new to all this. Lenore Schwartz 16:49, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

how about i go ahead and make a "template page" in a sandbox, then we can edit it together. How does that sound?Qwazywabbit 16:51, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright. I'm kinda stupid with the sandbox though. I don't really know where to find anything with it, if that makes any sense. Lenore Schwartz 16:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
gimme 5 minutes and you will see a link to your sandbox--I just made the page. I will show you how to do this.Qwazywabbit 16:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much. I've found the link. Are we going to use the discussion page there? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. Lenore Schwartz 16:58, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think that would be a good idea. Lets talk there.Qwazywabbit 17:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for all the help. I'm very proud of my new page and I'm very grateful for your assistance and advice. Thank you! Lenore Schwartz 00:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your VandalProof Application[edit]

Thank you for your interest in VandalProof, Qwazywabbit. As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that: you don't have at least 250 mainspace edits. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank again for your interest in VandalProof. Snowolf 14:22, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Editing page content[edit]

Qwazywabbit -- I hope I am posting this to the right place. I'd like to register my criticism regarding bias on the Home Depot site, but obviously have not found a way to participate in the "discussion." To wit, if one wants to list the Home Depot's RNC contributions under a more neutral section heading called "Political Contributions", that would be fine. But to list it under "Criticisms" shows clear bias. Would contributions to the DNC be listed under "Criticisms"? Of course, we can debate whether it belongs here at all.CBoz 23:45, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Home Depot[edit]

Ok, I think I made my point on Home Depot's RNC contributions in "Talk." What is the etiquette for making changes at this point? The *fairest* thing to do would be to put the paragraph under a section titled "Political Contributions."

Let us see what happens. If no one disputes or adds their comments after one week, feel free to make the change.QwazywabbitMsg me 00:07, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
PS -- The Home Depot was one of my customers (I'm a former IBMer) back in the early '80s. I remember when the HQ was in an old grocery store that had been converted. You walked into the CIOs office and there was a dip in the carpet, where the drain in the freezer room used to be ... I shoulda bought more stock! CBoz 00:36, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding your additions to the history section, looks good. I grew up in Atlanta and remember when Store #1 opened. It was located in the old Treasure Island store (sort of like a Kmart) on Buford Highway, and I believe is still there. I'll see if I can get confirmation and maybe update.CBoz 02:36, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BMW inner links[edit]

Hi! Oh, I understand now, MY stands for model year. But why did you delete the inner links that I put in? I thought wikifying the article is needed. I also tried to put links for one phrase only once per paragraph. Squash Racket 16:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Home Depot[edit]

First, I'm glad to hear you always know where your towel is. I see you're a big contributor to the Home Depot article, so you've probably done more research on the company than me. But, it seems like a lot of the history section includes overly positive descriptions of the company's early days, most of them attributed to Marcus and Andelman's book about the company. I think the descriptions are definitely colorful, but I think some of it doesn't fit with the NPOV/Peacock terms guidelines of Wikipedia. I'm not sure how to change it, since I don't have the book, but was wondering what you thought. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jjacobsmeyer (talkcontribs) 06:46, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:112 0712 01z+bmw concept 1 series tii+front view.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Advertisement for Gustav Ottowerkes1915.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Advertisement for Gustav Ottowerkes1915.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:49, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Alpina Trademark.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alpina Trademark.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
