Hi Wikid77, I've noticed that you're quite active on the page in question, and I was wondering whether you, an established editor of said page, approve of my meddling of it on one of my test pages (found here). I was playing around with the template for quite a while, something instigated by my finding the dashes and the eccentricity of the template somewhat bothersome. Hope to hear from you soon on this.

Also, would you consider archiving some of your talk page? :) Qwerty (talk) 10:22, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Qwerty. The use of dashes has been intentional for months, in a effort to conform to the appearance of Template:Year_nav (and other templates), which also has dashes around the central items, but we need more Year-topic templates. The mid-dots are not portable to all PCs. While middots are great for those users who can see them, the other users see highly bizarre square boxes which are very distracting and will reformat the page layout, appearing such as:
1690 [] 1691 [] 1692 [] 1693 [] 1694 [] 1695 [] 1696
I documented those issues on the related discussion page, Template_talk:Year nav topic. I know it can be frustrating to stay within limitations, but universals (such as superscript-dot ".") allow the wiki software to appear consistent across many types of PCs. If you have any other issues, they can be added to the "Requirements" topic. However, its great that you know the workings of Year_nav_topic, because we need a new template, Template:Year_nav_topic_BC, in the style of Template:Year_nav_BC to handle topics in those "negative" years. Would you be interested in creating and debugging a Template:Year_nav_topic_BC? There's no rush on that, but it would become a very valuable template in thousands of articles. -Wikid77 11:36, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hard-Fi - Hard to Beat.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Hard-Fi - Hard to Beat.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:25, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Thanks for your edits to the Panic! at the Disco pages. This is just a notice I'm posting to everyone: If you have information on Brent Wilson (eg his date of birth) will you please add it to the page? We have lots of unsourced information on that page, and it needs some cleanup. Cheers JazzlineB (talk) 20:25, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
