File permission problem with File:Singing Mike Gaston.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Singing Mike Gaston.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. January (talk) 18:43, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have forwarded the relevant e-mail for this photo to permissions-en@wikimedia.org please let me know if it is sufficient. Rachend (talk) 09:51, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Mike Gaston (October 8)[edit]

Thank you for your recent submission to Articles for Creation. Your article submission has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. Just wanted to clarify would this article be acceptable once the youtube links were removed or do I need to find alternate sources for these? Also is more sourcing needed in addition to this?

Thankyou Rachend (talk) 13:54, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it would be better if you had alternate sources for those statements. "Three months later, on April 6th, 60 brand new broadcasters had been recruited, trained, scheduled, rehearsed and were on the air." is a statement likely to be challenged (WP:MINREF), so it should have a source. Thank you for your work on the article! APerson (talk!) 16:10, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The clips that were copied to youtube were originally broadcast on tv first, would stating the information of those exact broadcasts be suitable or do i need something more solid than that?

Rachend (talk) 16:33, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

After some research i have found a reliable link that backs up the mention hopefully anyway so I will use that just to be sure. Thanks

Rachend (talk) 17:06, 8 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Rachend: I see that you have submitted the above article for review. While you are waiting for a review, there's something that you can do which will improve the article. You have listed a number of newspaper and magazine editions as sources, and that's good. It's unreasonable, though, to ask a person reading your article to plow through an entire newspaper or magazine looking for information about your topic. Can you please add the title of the news or magazine article, the name of the reporter (if it's given), a URL if the source is available on line, and a page number if it's not? That way readers of your article will be able to easily find the information, and so will the reviewers. Thanks! —Anne Delong (talk) 11:40, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Mike Gaston (November 14)[edit]

Could you please give me some indication of which parts of the article need citations? Thanks Rachend (talk) 20:45, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There are multiple sections of the page that don't have any references in them. For example, the sections titled "Education", "Peace Building", "Heritage", and "Motorsport" have some statements that probably need references. Furthermore, phrases like "lifelong involvement" and "returned full circle to peace building" (Peace Building section) don't exactly lend themselves to a dry, encyclopedic tone. Thanks! Content deletion[edit]

The article Manu Sharma has been protected in order to keep edits such as this one you made without justification. You cannot simply blank sourced material, you need to go to the article talk page and get consensus for the broad changes you would like to make. The material you are blanking is all supported by reliable sources, blanking it without discussion is purely disruptive.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:15, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I could not see substantiated information that proved this to be accurate, if there is and you can prove so to me then I apologize and will happily back down.

Rachend (talk) 16:18, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There were multiple sources attached to each claim made, including from The Gulf Times, The Hindu, and Rediff. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:38, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

None of the links even opened but I shall undo my changes as I understand I clearly made a mistake in those edits, I am still quite new to some of Wikipedia's processes.

Rachend (talk) 16:40, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The reference links work fine for me - here's one example. This article is a reliable source that supports the material you were removing as unsupported. I trust this alleviates your concerns that the information is "unsubstantiated". --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 18:06, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok that loaded this time, sorry I made a mistake there in trying to remove that and I will remember in future if I wish to make such large scale edits on a page to discuss them first. Thank you for pointing this out to me.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Infomineo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 15:39, 7 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Clothes For Charity, a page you created, has not been edited in 6 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

If your submission is not edited soon, it could be nominated for deletion. If you would like to attempt to save it, you will need to improve it.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

If the deletion has already occured, instructions on how you may be able to retrieve it are available at WP:REFUND/G13.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 01:41, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Clothes For Charity[edit]

Hello Rachend. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Clothes For Charity".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Clothes For Charity}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. TKK! bark with me! 08:25, 26 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
