Welcome from me too![edit]

Hi Rakista, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 17:20, August 11, 2005 (UTC)

POV Recommendation for Anti-Mormonism Draft[edit]

You put a POV check on the Anti-Mormon article with a statement you would explain yourself on the talk page; as of now there is still no explanation. Please return to the page and explain why you did so on a DRAFT page. Storm Rider 17:11, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Added for posterity. These criticisms of religious intolerance and outright hatred need imho to be treated in the light of their histories so that our own contemporary prejudices do not seep in. Double prejudice does no one any good. --Rakista 17:44, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Rakista, I have nothing against qualifying an article as POV, but to do so without explanation is unacceptable. As you know you declared a DRAFT of an article as POV. Now rather just throw rocks, it is time to provide assistance to make it a better article. Pitch in and add edits with the objective of improving WIKI. I look forward to seeing your edits; we could use another perspective. Storm Rider 17:48, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added to the talk page. I am not an expert in anti-mormonism per se but I have seen the hostility at mormon academics in my university. What I could add is a pittance of what is out there. IMHO, the article needs to begin with the history of often reactionary attacks against mormons in their founding and show their exodus out of many communities often by openly violent means. I know very little about that part of American history and would be of little help. I will write up what I know of Universities withdrawing support or cutting funding to mormon graduate students and professors who are doing controversial work outside of BYU and other sympathetic institutions. I'll add it to both pages and see if it survives edits.--Rakista 17:57, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Kentucky cuisine deletion nomination[edit]

The Kentucky cuisine article should be deleted. It is offensive and derogatory.71.28.250.92 23:43, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

How so?
Rakista, I've left commentary on the article's Talk page. The nomination for deletion is here. Jkelly 23:29, 27 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Got your good luck message. Thank You.[edit]

Could not reply on the article page because it ask not to be edited. Shall not include fast food places. I am no chef so it will take a long time.-Dakota 21:26, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
