Username[edit]

Still got me, I can't find a record of "Pooh the Bear" being a registered trademark. Even if I stretch it a take it as being "Winnie the Pooh", as a trademark of Disney WP:U states "Complex trademarked names that undoubtedly refer to the owner of the trademark". PoohTheBear doesn't appear to undoubtedly refer to Disney. --pgk 09:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The username rule was designed for names such as A-101234567891011121314151617181920 (talk · contribs) that are especially long, random or confusing. This name doesnt strike me as any of those, its only 6 characters after all. Glen 10:01, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Unfortunately the username policy is (like most of them) subjective, and open to interpretation. But four numbers and two letters doesnt seem especially random - especially given usernames like these; User:EWS23 User:Rd232 User:Zzyzx11 User:Nv8200p User:Mdd4696 User:Jcw69 or User:Ixfd64 (all of whom are administrators!)

But yes, it can be a little confusing. If you think of a better way to phrase let me know - the main problem is that policy (especially) changes so often its hard to keep up! Glen 10:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
