File copyright problem with File:CSI Ellis Memorial Church.jpeg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:CSI Ellis Memorial Church.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Nyttend (talk) 05:09, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, I call it an insult to Wikipedia that you cannot be bothered to rotate the image slightly and crop it cleanly. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:28, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Waste of time[edit]

Hello, thanks for contributing to C.S.I Ellis Memorial Church, but unfortunately I've had to reduce it to a single-sentence "stub". It simply wasn't an encyclopedia article. It was a speech by someone, held on some occasion. I couldn't even figure out which and when. When was that speech held? When was this church built? Where it says "today", when is that? Where it says "in the eighties", did in mean the 1880s or the 1980s? Whose copyright is that speech? It was credited to one Rev. Ellis. Unless you yourself are Mr. Ellis, the speech isn't yours to post here. But in any case, such texts are not suitable as encyclopedia articles.

If you really want an article on that church:

  • Find reliable sources (books, reputable newspapers etc.) that talk about it.
  • Write a short, matter-of-fact text, in your own words, about what the church is. Just the simple facts: Where is it, when was it built, what denomination is it associated with, what congregation does it serve, who was the person who founded it. Add references to the sources to verify these facts.
  • For your images, add a clear description where you got them from, who created them, when they were created, and how they were published. They look like they are from the 1920s or 1930s or thereabouts. If that is the case, you did not create them (unless you are a hundred years old). You need to say where they come from, and why you think you have the right to publish them. Do you own the copyrights? How?

I'm afraid if this doesn't happen, both the article and the images will soon be deleted again. Fut.Perf. 19:13, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
