The Education System in Finland[edit]

Hi,

You have contributed to the article Education in Finland. On the French side of Wikipedia, we have a question on one point of your contribution for the (in French) article translation. It concerns your addition of a recent student places cut. I would thank you to have a glance at the article talk page where I give some details about our question.

Thanks for your attention. Sorry to have bothered you in case. Best regards. --nha, from Lyon, France. 15:44, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your answer on the article talk page has been noticed and it is fully satisfying. Thanks a lot! Spend a good week. --nha, from Lyon, France. 01:10, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You too. The part in question was really in need of clarification. Thanks for pointing it out - and the work on fr.wiki's Education in Finland. --Ras 18:33, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:ANTI logo.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:ANTI logo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:27, 7 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Better source request for Image:ANTI_logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ANTI_logo.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. OsamaK (talk) 19:18, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

External map service links[edit]

Hello. You have been identified as having added or removed direct external map service links in articles[1]. There is a discussion at Wikipedia talk:External links#Issues with inclusion or exclusion of map service links about which should be done, and some more opinions would be good to find community consensus. --Para (talk) 17:16, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:ANTI logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ANTI logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of PROD[edit]

In future, it would be better if you were to read the policies referred to on PROD notices, as here, rather than dismissing accurate statements of policy as laughable. Kevin McE (talk) 20:17, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Come on – just because the Finnish league is labeled semi-pro, he is to be excluded? He still belongs to the national elite in his sport (which is nr. 1 in Finland by the number of participants) - combined with his history in the junior national teams and recent transfer to Eredivisie, he should be notable. IMO too narrow criteria, not suited to reality of Finnish Leagues vs. their "status of professionality". Thus it gets in the way of fair evaluation of notability. --Ras (talk) 22:23, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
By the same token, would you argue that every player in the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio should have an article? You admit that he does not meet WP:Ath or WP:N, but claim he should still have an article? This does not seem to indicate much acceptance of consensus. By all means, try to make a case at WP:FOOTY or WP:N that everyone who competes at the top level of his/her sport in his/her country should meet the grade, but I doubt you will have much success. The place of birth of a footballer does not prohibit his access to professional leagues, and might make easier his progress to full international status, and by these means he can reach the criteria for notability and inclusion in an encyclopaedia, but at present, this individual does not. European Professional Football Leagues[edit]

Just to alert you, this group contains at least two leagues well known not to be fully professional (Irish and Welsh), so can't be used to prove the professionality of others. Cheers, пﮟოьεԻ 57 12:44, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but would a criterion to include all EPFL leagues be more simple than trying to source which leagues are and aren't pro? Currently we have a "pro-whitelist" which is unsourced. --Ras (talk) 13:26, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Last time I looked, a few of them were sourced, especially the more contentious ones (e.g. Ireland). Using the EPFL would not be a good idea at all, especially when you consider that it contains the Welsh Premier League, which is on a par with the sixth or seventh level in England. пﮟოьεԻ 57 13:34, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
True, but Wp:Ath is not exact enough (actually it is, but our communal knowledge of pro/not pro leagues is not). Veikkausliiga was not included in that list and now several editors, which have edited Veikkausliiga-player articles stand to lose their work. Just because there was/is no clear yardstick of wiki-notable leagues. We need to improve our criterions to minimize Afd's. That might translate to fully sourcing that aforementioned list. Then the next editors trying to include semi-pro league player articles wouldn't be wasting their time just because of fuzzy criteria.--Ras (talk) 13:55, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
People losing their work is not a valid argument to keep articles. We just need to be able to find more sources. пﮟოьεԻ 57 14:14, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Of course not. One article is not worthy of lengthy considerations, but when those guidelines are applied to all, then it is. If we establish that Veikkausliiga players in general do not meet Wp:Ath, it affects all Veikkausliiga-player articles. Where it all becomes important is this: Preventing future misunderstandings in status of a certain league. We wouldn't like to see someone wasting time with non-relevant league's players. Reliably sourced whitelist of leagues, which meet Wp:Ath would prevent future misunderstandings and direct the efforts to constructive acts instead of wasteful ones. --Ras (talk) 18:18, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
