Alright, I have a proposition[edit]

I have no problem with you creating articles such as Fuko Ibuki for Clannad, but I do have a problem with you creating such articles as Shino Okazaki and Ushio Okazaki, but that's only because of the difference between main and minor characters. Furthermore, I can see that this may end up snowballing if others get into it and it may get a bit out of control since at WP:FICT, it says that these articles really shouldn't even be here since they don't have reliable secondary sources commenting on the character, or to put it simply, an out-of-universe perspective. So, I am going to (for now) merge the four separate character articles into an all encompassing List of Clannad characters where further additions will be able to go. You seem overly willing to supply such information to the characters, so I hope that you can still find the time to provide such good information. Thank you for your time.-- 20:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The thing is, I'm not even sure if we should be adding such in-depth plot information at all since at WP:FICT it says that only plot summaries are not enough to justify notability, so they may end up getting deleted some day if no out of universe information is provided. If you still want to give it a try, then you can go ahead and restore the Nagisa Furukawa article, but I say this only because she is 1) A main character and 2) There is already a huge amount of info on her at List of Clannad characters. If you can collect enough information to justify a separate character article then for the other 5 main characters (protagonist and 4 other main heroines), then you can go ahead and do it. Furthermore, the already extensive information on Ushio can then go in the Nagisa article since she's her daughter, and if the Tomoya Okazaki aticle is ever created, the information on his grandmother can probably go in there as well. The point is to keep the information revolving around the main cast, and try not to stray from that.
And for the record, I have not played the game; I'm already getting spoiled enough just by copyediting and keeping tabs on the Clannad (and all other) Key-related articles, but it's the price I pay for consistency and good-looking and correctly-formatted articles.-- 23:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We have a little problem[edit]

I was going over your recent additions to List of Clannad characters and while I am thankful for your contributions, you have various problems with tense (difference between past/present tense in prose) and other things related to the WP:MOS-JP. When you contribute, please try to keep everything in present tense, as this is the accepted form of writing when writing about events in a story. Only use the past tense when you're talking about an event that occured before the story even began. Also, do not use contractions (don't, won't can't); instead, spell them out like: do not, will not, cannot. And do not use terms like "you" as it is unencylopedic. Remember, we're writing an encylopedia here, so try to keep all these things in mind. And when referring to characters, try not to overuse writing their name; use pronouns like him, her, his, etc so you don't overuse the character's name, and when you do refer to them by name, keep it to their given names as per WP:MOS-JP. Thank you.-- 01:50, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help[edit]

Thanks! --213.40.96.218 (talk) 04:49, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, Ras. I just noticed that you made this edit which listed each individual's elements, which I removed just now, citing a lack of notability (which was wrong, because that fails WP:V and not WP:N). Could you please cite some sources if you're going to re-add those back in again? Thanks. -- Altiris Helios Exeunt 11:15, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's a very interesting reply you left on my talk page. The use of a wiki as a source is generally frowned upon, and I think there is a certain rule on Wikipedia which discourages us from using the other wikis as sources. Also note that none of the other official websites mention anything about the elemental alignments of each character. Both the SEA and NA sites are a testament to this. A person may be able to guess what kind of element a character is aligned to from reading up his or her special skills, but that would violate WP:NOR. -- Altiris Helios Exeunt 03:12, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning your concern on whether someone is trying to irk us...maybe this and this might help. As evidenced by what happened to the Pokemon community here, they work. -- Altiris Helios Exeunt 03:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
