When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

I noticed your recent edit to Integration by parts does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

• User contributions
• Recent changes
• Watchlists
• Revision differences
• IRC channels
• Related changes
• New pages list and
• Article editing history

On Differentiation rules

Please, do not take my reverting of your edits as disagreement to their content. I just wanted to point you to the environment this whole article sets up. In this specific section it talks about "polynomials", so hinting to the result for "reals" might miss the original intention, non-overtly focussing on naturals.

I also do not really want to take part in a discussion which "rule" is derived from what "rule" by which assumption, I only wanted to draw your attention to the "specific mindset" this article is written in, and that might be changed by your edits, and such making a discussion about this global change appropriate.

proper non-TeX math notation

right: k = n − 1

wrong: k=n-1

Hello.

Please note that (1) a minus sign is not a stubby little hyphen, and (2) variables (but not digits and not parentheses or other punctuation) should be italicized, and (3) proper spacing should be used (and one can make the spaces non-breakable).

This is codified in WP:MOSMATH. Part of the point is to make non-TeX notation stylistically as similar as possible to what is done in TeX.

(I altered your recent edit to read as follows, with k = n − 1 inside the TeX code.):

$\sum _{k=0}^{\infty }{\frac {x^{k}}{k!}},{\text{ where }}k=n-1$
