Thanks. I'll be monitoring the discussion, to be honest, I still monitor the talk pages of certain articles daily, such as MJ and GAGA. I just rarely choose to get involved now. But I'm hear if you urgently need input or anything. — R2 10:49, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for monitoring these pages. With you and Bookkeeper being inactive, I was fearing for these pages. I rarely get time to venture out of Madonna and the Gaga pages, the recent number of articles cropping up at WP:MJJ seems too much don't you think?. Coupled with the undue splitting of MJ's album discography to Michael Jackson albums discography (certifications and sales), I am getting more compelled to pull you back by your neck to get active. Miss you really. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:15, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree, there are quite a few MJ articles that sprung up since his death, that I would personally consider nominating for deletion. MJ related traffic doesn't seem like it will slow down for a while, maybe another year before a sense of stability returns to WP:MJJ. — R2 18:55, 31 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think WP:MJJ is going fantastic. I believe you must be really proud of Pyrrhus and Crystal's work in bringing so many articles to GA. The Madonna project is also following suit. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:05, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WP:UNDUE in The Guardian[edit]

Hi, I was just summarizing this for the Signpost, and thought you might be interested to know that both M.I.A. and Diplo seem to have been a bit puzzled by this edit. Regards, HaeB (talk) 04:15, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed in A Hard Day's Night (film)[edit]

Hi! Since you were involved in a lot of Good Article-related work on the Hard Day's Night article, I wanted to give you a heads up I had to add a "fact" tag to one bit of info in the article claiming Charlotte Rampling made her film debut in it. All the sources I can find make no reference and instead say she made her debut in a later Richard Lester film in 1965. Owing to the article being GA and me being a lowly IP, I didn't want to delete any information in case there's a source I don't know about. 68.146.81.123 (talk) 04:13, 29 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Adopt-a-user reminder[edit]

Hello, I have completed a general cleanup of the adopter information page for the adopt-a-user project, located here. During my cleanup, I have removed several inactive and retired users. In order to provide interested adoptees with an easy location to find adopters, it is essential that the page be up-to-date with the latest information possible. Thus:

  • If you are no longer interested in being an adopter, please remove yourself from the list.
  • If you are still interested, please check the list to see if any information needs to be updated or added - especially your availability. Thank you.
  • You are receiving this message because you are listed as an adopter here.

An update from adopt a user[edit]

Hi there Realist2! You may be wondering, what have I done to sound the alarm this time? Nothing. I'm messaging you in regards to the adopt-a-user program, which currently has a backlog of users wishing to be adopted. This doesn't make much sense, as we have a considerable list of users offer adoption, so there shouldn't be any backlog. I've begun to eliminate this backlog myself through a matching program, but I need your help to make it work. Of course, adoptees and adopters don't have to go through there, but I believe it helps eliminate the backlog because someone is actively matching pairs.

On the list of adopters, I have modified the middle column to say "Interests." It's easier working with other users that have similar interests, so if it's not too much to ask, could you add your interests in the middle column? For example, if I was interested in hurricanes, computers, business, and ... reptiles? I would place those in the middle column. Counter-vandalism and the like can also be included (maintenance should be used as the general term). The more interests, the better, since adoptees can learn more about you and choose the one they feel most comfortable working with. The information about when you're most active and other stuff can go into the "Notes" section to the right.

Finally, I've gone around and asked adoptees (and will in the future) to fill in a short survey so adopters can take the initiative and contact users they feel comfortable working with. We all know that most adoptees just place the adopt me template on their user page and leave it - so it's up to us to approach them and offer adoption. So, please take a look at the survey, adopt those that fit your interests, and maybe watchlist it so you can see the interests of adoptees and adopt one that fits your interests in the future.

Once again, thank you for participating in the adopt-a-user program! If you wish to respond to this post, please message me on my talk page.

Michael Jackson Thriller 25[edit]

Hello. When I was looking through Thriller 25, I saw a chart on India. As far as I know, there are no official charts in India. Also, the Indian Music Industry does not have a searchable database to confirm the certification. Please correct that. Novice7 Talk 11:05, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. Legolas removed it. Novice7 | Talk 13:20, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Genre warrior[edit]

Hello. I like the essay that you did on the subject of genre warriors. I also do not like how often I come across their edits. I have noticed that the phrase is not on urbandictionary.com. I was going to add it, but I decided that I wanted your permission first before the submissions would go through. Therefore, is it okay if this phrase and an accompanying definition is added to Urban Dictionary? Cheers. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 04:08, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Haha. Yes, I'm totally fine with that :) — R2 16:16, 20 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Good Articles will be running a GAN backlog elimination drive for the entire month of March. The goal of this drive is to bring the number of outstanding Good Article nominations down to below 50. This will help editors in restoring confidence to the GAN process as well as actively improving, polishing, and rewarding good content. If you are interested in participating in the drive, please place your name here. Awards will be given out to those who review certain numbers of GANs as well as to those who review the most. On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, we hope we can see you in March. MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 00:03, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It's time to fix the MJ article up again before the no longer applicable BLP rule leads to the article being caked and smeared in tabloid nonsense. Join me on the talk page?--Manboobies (talk) 04:43, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

looksee[edit]

For Pauline Maier I seriously tried to research and write a piece by B standards. I've got 47 notes ... but I am not yet successful. The first critique was that the piece was promotional. The second deleted all pictures illustrating the work. After two months, the article now has a C rating. Both discussion page and edits are a monologue except for a couple of bots.

Historians like her focus on politics, ideas, people who read and write. So I tried to include neo-progressives (economic guys) and cultural historians (scholars of the 'diverse and marginalized'). And I stayed away from original research about UMass-Boston or NYT events. Links to publishers should be axed because guidelines forbid links to commercial sites.

I'm not asking you like History or Midwesterners or un-Ivy New England professors or tenured faculty teaching undergraduates, or women over seventy. But could you take an overview look? TheVirginiaHistorian (talk) 14:08, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Main page appearance: Madonna (entertainer)[edit]

This is a note to let the main editors of Madonna (entertainer) know that the article will be appearing as today's featured article on March 27, 2012. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/March 27, 2012. If you prefer that the article appear as TFA on a different date, or not at all, please ask featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or his delegate Dabomb87 (talk · contribs), or start a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/requests/instructions. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page. The blurb as it stands now is below:

Madonna at the premiere of I Am Because We Are at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival

Madonna (born 1958) is an American singer, songwriter, actress and entrepreneur. Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the world's top-selling female recording artist of all time by the Guinness World Records. Considered to be one of the "25 Most Powerful Women of the Past Century" by Time for being an influential figure in contemporary music, Madonna is known for continuously reinventing both her music and image, and for retaining a standard of autonomy within the recording industry. Critics have praised Madonna for her diverse musical productions which have also served as a lightning rod for religious controversy. Throughout her career, many of her songs have hit number one on the record charts, including "Like a Virgin", "Papa Don't Preach", "Like a Prayer", "Vogue", "Frozen", "Music", "Hung Up", and "4 Minutes". According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century and the second top-selling female artist in the United States, with 64 million certified albums. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Madonna at number two, behind only The Beatles, on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, making her the most successful solo artist in the history of the chart. She was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the same year. (more...)
