Speedy deletion of List of Ricky Martin awards[edit]

A tag has been placed on List of Ricky Martin awards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File copyright problem with File:Ntalia Orerio cover debut album.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Ntalia Orerio cover debut album.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kevin (talk) 22:45, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Natalia Oreiro 1999.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Natalia Oreiro 1999.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image links[edit]

Hi
Per our external links guideline we do not normally link to fan sites, and in particular we must avoid linking to a direct copyright violation: Those images are copyrighted, and I don't think they can be used on that fan site under a claim of fair use.
If you have questions about it, feel free to ask.

A tag has been placed on File:Ricky Martin 17 promocional pictures.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Proposed deletion of Top 10 at 10[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Top 10 at 10, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Insufficient context - top 10 in which country, when? Is this even relevant or notable?

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ~Excesses~ (talk) 15:59, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Top 10 at 10, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Request for a reference to your addition[edit]

Hello, I have been trying to limit all new additions to the List of best-selling singles worldwide to referenced titles only. I notice from your edits that you must be very familiar with his career. Could you please cite a reference for your addition of Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca"? I enjoy the song and a number of his others too, and I don't doubt the claim, but I need to improve that list by making sure there are no unreferenced entries that could be removed by other editors. Thanks, Abrazame (talk) 16:18, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Ricky Martin Promocional - 17 years.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Ricky Martin Promocional - 17 years.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Σxplicit 18:36, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Photoshoot - Greatest Hits.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. A tag has been placed on Untitled English Album (Ricky Martin) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Hi Renné. I think the sources you've used to reference a forthcoming album, already at the recording stage and knowing the producer's name, is a good example of when that kind of website/blog sourcing is appropriate for an article. However, at this time, you should add that information to Martin's bio, and not an article about the album. We don't create an article for a notable piece of commercial art (a major artist's film, album, book) until it is commercially available or until notable reliable sources have made substantive statements about it. (For example, reviews released in the days leading up to release.) A good guideline is, if it doesn't have a title yet, it shouldn't be an article yet. I know it can be frustrating, especially with the language barrier, but keep up the good work and keep learning about Wiki policies so your time and efforts go toward edits that remain here at Wiki. Best, Abrazame (talk) 09:50, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To add to that advice: have a look at Notability (music), particularly the section "Albums, singles and songs", and Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. The point is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and deals in facts backed up by reliable sources, not in rumours and speculation about things that might happen in the future. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I have reverted your redirect of this article, for two reasons: (a) "redirect" is one possible outcome of the AfD, but you should wait until the discussion concludes, and (b) a redirect is only useful if the title is a likely search term, as it might be if the album title was known, but I don't think that's the case here. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:05, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your "Untitled upcoming album" articles[edit]

Please read these links, which explain why "untitled upcoming album" articles are bound to be deleted and are a waste of everybody's time:

  • WP:HAMMER - that's an essay, not an official policy, but it's based on:
  • WP:NALBUMS: "Articles and information about albums with confirmed release dates in the near future must be confirmed by reliable sources. Separate articles should not be created until there is sufficient reliably sourced information about a future release. For example, a future album whose article is titled "(Artist)'s Next Album" and consists solely of blog or fan forum speculation about possible titles, or songs that might be on the album, is a WP:CRYSTAL violation and should be discussed only in the artist's article, and even then only if there is some verifiable information about it."
  • WP:CRYSTAL

The point is that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a fan gossip site, and deals in verifiable facts, not rumours. JohnCD (talk) 19:00, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File copyright problem with File:Shakira She Wolf (Latin American Edition).jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Shakira She Wolf (Latin American Edition).jpg.

— ξxplicit 04:01, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Shakira photographed September 2009 cover of Rolling Stone.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Shakira photographed September 2009 cover of Rolling Stone.jpg.

Thank you. — ξxplicit 19:29, 31 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
