Adoption[edit]

I noticed that you were seeking adoption and are also interested in making Wikipedia a well-referenced place. Hurrah to that I say. If you'd like me to take you under my wing, respond here. You're right, the Santeria article needs a boatload of references. It has a problem I've seen a lot, which is substituting external links for references. Use your books and check out some of the links for addition references. That article isn't referenced at all, so don't feel shy about putting an {{unreferenced}} on it. If you come across an article that has at least one reference, but not enough, you can use {{refimprove}} to mark it. If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a line at my talk page--Gimme danger 22:52, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds great, I'd be honored!
I am wondering if I "violated" that "substituting external links for references?" ; on Vanguard:_Saga_of_Heroes using <ref>{cite web}</ref> type of stuff, is that not recommended? It's the last "reference" at the end of the Diplomacy, just before Game World: Telon. Rhesusmonkeyboy 15:12, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, the real problem is not linking up specific statements to references. Since you did that, you're fine. I'm not so sure, however, that the reference you used meets the criteria for reliable sources. Generally chat transcripts and forum posts are not considered reliable sources. Check it out. I know there's a ridiculous amount of policy to learn, but hey, it's a ridiculously big project, right? --Gimme danger 17:42, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That makes sense. My naivete got me. It's allegedly a Developer post but it's not an official forum hence it could be someone pretending to be the developer in question. That should've occurred to me. Thanks! Rhesusmonkeyboy 17:26, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:LogoAuthenTec.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LogoAuthenTec.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 04:31, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kevin DuBrow[edit]

Hi. Thank you for adding the references to the Kevin DuBrow page. Pinkadelica (talk) 03:15, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Checking up[edit]

Hi there adoptee! I'm just wondering how you're doing. Is there anything I can help you with? I see that you've been doing pretty minor edits recently and I hope you haven't lost interest in Wikipedia. I've recently been having trouble deciding what to edit and it's sort of paralyzed me, so if you want suggestions, maybe we can come up with a project that you'll enjoy. Good luck with your meatspace life and I hope to see you around. Remember that I'm always around if you have questions/concerns/chocolate cake! --Gimme danger (talk) 18:17, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption[edit]

Hi there! It's been over a year since we started this adoption process; if you don't have anymore goals or questions, I think we can consider you officially graduated. Congratulations! --Gimme danger (talk) 22:05, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of The Monsters in the Morning for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article The Monsters in the Morning is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Monsters in the Morning (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Levdr1lp / talk 12:32, 16 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Levdr1 thanks for bringing the discussion to my attention. I happen to enjoy the program personally, however, it does appear it violates Wikipedia's "relevance" guidelines -- I apologize for using normal syntax -- I'd like to wrap my brain around relevance to make an impartial vote. I stongrly suspect it should be deleted, and grossly doesn't meet Wikipedia:GNG but have never chimed in on deletion, which I feel is an important decision not to be muddled by liking a radio show, it's a "big boy" decision. It seems media discussions disintegrate into non-encylcopedic subjectivity ... like Cloverfield was pre-release ... I hope to be able to help in time ... or I may bow out due to lack of impartiality.
