Not bad[edit]

From one pedant to another: Thanks for the good edit on Giacomo Casanova. Deor (talk) 01:25, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Needed: Someone to review first-timer's addition: Candualism[edit]

I've just added a section to the article on Candualism. This is my first shot at something beyond expansions or corrections of existing items. The section looks right and the references seem to work properly. I tried it first in the Sandbox, but the results seem to apply to parts of the article other than my addition. I may be getting that wrong.

My added part is the section "Historical instances of Candualism" and cites the behavior of the spy Robert Hanssen who demonstrated a clear case of it. This is one very prominent example of Candualism that I am familiar with; there must certainly be plenty of others prominent enough to be included, hence the section.

I lifted two references from the article on Hanssen and added one from another source, which might be overkill; I'm not sure.

There is a red link at the point where I mention that Hanssen used FBI property to set up his exhibitionism. I have seen that mentioned online from sources that I believe are reliable, but for some reason I can't find them at this moment. I plan to as soon as I can. I think that's an appropriate use of a red link. I believe that the fact that he was willing to make unauthorized use of FBI property for his personal sexual recreation is relevant both to this article and to any other history of Hanssen as well. Please correct me if I'm off on this.

If any expert will take a look and let me know if I've goofed up anywhere I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks for the e-mail, responded already on the article's talk page. That's the correct place for content discussions. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 19:23, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you created Category:Abuse of the legal system. Any chance you might create a parent article for it ? I made a start on something here User:Penbat/legal abuse.--Penbat (talk) 21:33, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Isaac Wunder order[edit]

If you are interested in results – I reviewed Isaac Wunder order and removed the template. Nice work!

If you are interested in process – I have more discouraging news. We do not have an adequate process for addressing this. You took the logical step – asking at Feedback. However, when I am active at Feedback, I cannot keep up with the volume, and when I am not, as I am not at the moment, the number of ignored requests is scandalous. Posting at the help desk was the right thing for you to do, although it isn't acceptable that you had to do that. Sorry.--SPhilbrickT 13:23, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oddly, while there are too few people looking at Feedback, you had two editors looking at reviewed Isaac Wunder order at the same time. My removal of the unreviewed template should not be construed as signoff that everything is OK, merely that it is "good enough" to move on. I agree that the comments of Ukexpat should be addressed. His first point is something I should have caught; the second it less obvious to me, and I'll leave it to you and others to think through.--SPhilbrickT 13:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the other comments Wikipedia:Help_desk#Getting_new_unreviewed_articles_reviewed, but to make it easie for you, I'll copy them here:
  • The list of "See also" links should probably also be pruned to remove links that already appear in the text of the article.
  • It is not clear to me how the external link is relevant

False accusations[edit]

Thanks very much for your work on legal abuse. We have false confession and it seems to be a logical idea to also have "false accusations". False accusations of child sexual abuse and False accusation of rape have already been done but maybe it is worth having a general "false accusations" article as well. I was going to include, for example, false accusations to do with workplace bullying so it could be quasi-judicial as well as judicial.

I have started a sandbox on this at User:Penbat/false_accusations. If it interests you feel free to edit. Incidentally it looks to me like quasi-judicial could be expanded a lot as so many things are quasi-judicial. --Penbat (talk) 21:20, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gayle Caldwell[edit]

Hi - I was going to write an article on Gayle Caldwell, but I see you pretty much already have - are you ready to push it out into the big wild world yet?  pablo 13:13, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of subpage moved[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that a subpage of your user page has been moved to User:Rhsimard/Keaveny v. Geraghty. This has been done since titles with consecutive apostrophes (for example, '' or ''') have been known to cause issues with wiki markup on pages if the page title is linked on other pages. Since the end of 2014, the creation of titles containing consecutive apostrophes has been restricted by Wikipedia's title creation blacklist. The page can now be found at User:Rhsimard/Keaveny v. Geraghty. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this. Thank you. Steel1943 (talk) 18:07, 11 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
