Attempt on the Dutch Royal family[edit]

I don't know Dutch law, so I'm reading the replies to your question with interest, but here in the UK an attempt on the Queen's life would definitely be a specific act covered by one of our longer-standing laws (Treason Act 1351). See High_treason_in_the_United_Kingdom for complete details, but I believe it's the only remaining crime in this country which can attract the death penalty.
