Hi Rich. Thanks for joining the Guild of Copy Editors and contributing to our latest backlog elimination drive. As a matter of routine, we do some spot checks on articles, and I've just taken a look at Steve Lavin. You did a good job there, and I just wanted to encourage you to feel free to be very ruthless when you encounter vanity and flowery language. In that article, you removed some, but there was plenty more. Don't hesitate to take a blue pencil to such hagiographies. Here is a diff showing some more I found and enjoyed shredding. Good luck. --Stfg (talk) 20:24, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stfg - thanks for the welcome, and for the pointers! I considered a couple of the edits you made, but wasn't certain at the time. Now I know better! Quite a few of those I'm embarrassed I didn't spot the first time round though...lesson learned: don't start editing too late in the day! RichPiccone (talk) 11:49, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's a lesson I still have to learn! There's no reason to be embarrassed: two heads are always better than one. Regards, --Stfg (talk) 12:03, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
