September 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to United States gubernatorial elections, 1958. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Speech[edit]

Thanks for adding the speech, but I had to revert it, - it's already in the article, scroll to the bottom and look at the little box on the right, Wikisource. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:00, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve United States gubernatorial elections, 1955[edit]

Thanks for creating United States gubernatorial elections, 1955.

A New Page Patroller Willsome429 just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

Please add another independent source - one source does not give notability

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Improving your the United States' RCV map[edit]

Thanks of creating an original map, based on how many US states who has currently (and historically) adopting and using RCV. But, I think you missing one thing on the first line description, that for the states that are using RCV for statewide, are since 2020, is also using RCV for the presidential level or nationwide too. A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
Hey Richard, what you have done for Wikipedia is awesome! I found you through 1856 United States presidential election in New York (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1856_United_States_presidential_election_in_New_York). I noticed that you left a link to a spreadsheet of many state elections on the county results table on John C. Frémont, and I am wondering if that is yours. If it is, I would love to chat with you regarding it as I am avidly trying to catalog many election ballot returns myself and would like to see what you have done. I am unsure if this is the proper place to be reaching out to you or not, but I hope you get this. My email is migs26762@gmail.com

Persistent violations of NOR and SYNTH[edit]

Regarding the hard policy of WP:No original research, I see you regularly ignore it by posting your own analysis of election results. You cite election results from one election but you add your own larger analysis. One example among many is this addition of yours analyzing many years of election results through the present, but based only on a 1940 election map.

You have violated WP:SYNTH by adding together two sources to imply a connection not explicitly stated. For instance, you cited Britannica's "Era of Good Feelings" to put together a synthesis in the article 1820 United States presidential election in Massachusetts, despite the Britannica source never mentioning Massachusetts.

You have also replaced the valid analysis by a published author with your own analysis based on a Google docs spreadsheet.[1] What's up with that? Binksternet (talk) 15:53, 22 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
