I think one thing's for sure – nobody is likely to search for "Allgemeine Bevölkerungsumfrage der Sozialwissenschaften" on the en Wikipedia! The easiest way would seem to be to put a redirect in from ALLBUS to German General Social Survey, so I've done that. Regards, Tonywalton  | Talk 10:14, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We now have German General Social Survey, the en title and Allgemeine Bevoelkerungsumfrage der Sozialwissenschaften, a de title that no-one will be likely to search for on the en Wiki, but containing more content. How about the following:

  1. Delete German General Social Survey
  2. Move the (excellent) Allgemeine Bevoelkerungsumfrage der Sozialwissenschaften article to German General Social Survey. Note that the move process will leave a redirect in place so that a search for Allgemeine (etc) will automatically present the German General (etc) article. That is what redirects are for - to allow an article to be searched for by a number of aliases.
  3. Leave the redirect from ALLBUS in place

Unless you have any rooted objection to this I'll start the process in a couple of hours by tagging German General Social Survey for deletion. Tonywalton  | Talk 10:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's been longer tthan a couple of hours but I've now tagged German General Social Survey for deletion to prepare for the steps listed above. Tonywalton  | Talk 12:06, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All done. Thanks to Merope for carrying it out. Tonywalton  | Talk 14:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
