Login using Email[edit]
I changed my username on the 30 april 2018 due to privacy concerns. the problem was that I was automatically logged out of my account, and I didn't remember my new username because I requested it to be changed a while ago, and I was using wikipedia for free, so I couldn't login to my email to reset my password, but then I took a look at the list of contributions on an article I edited and saw my name. moral of the story, I think that everyone should have the option to login to Wikipedia using their Email instead of their Username. I am E. Whittaker, an intern at Wikimedia with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
