Welcome![edit]

Hello, Rjhassell, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Morgan and Marvin Smith, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Morgan and Marvin Smith requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://northbysouth.kenyon.edu/1998/art/pages/mmsmith.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 86.20.193.222 (talk) 23:42, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started (Morgan and Marvin Smith) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Morgan and Marvin Smith, Rjhassell!

Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Please expand the article to give context. These aren't just twins who did art in high school, they were notable photographers!

thank you! Animalparty! I am leaning. Rjhassell (talk) 17:13, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"historical revisions"[edit]

Please don't worry about the notice currently on the article.

It's temporary - to get an admin to remove the copyright-violating versions from earlier.

I know you've now removed the copyvio problem, and that's fine, so it won't be deleted.

This is just a housekeeping task.

By the way, I noticed you tried the "adventure" thing... was it fun and useful? Hope so.

Thanks for being understanding about the copyright concerns; best wishes. 86.20.193.222 (talk) 02:37, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Schomburg Center for Research[edit]

Just fyi, Facebook isn't considered a reliable, independent source. The article has a ton of affiliated sources already, and desperately needs independent ones. HTH.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:27, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okays, thanks! Rjhassell (talk) 19:03, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops this is actually a duplicate page.... how do I delete it? Rjhassell (talk) 19:11, 9 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The easiest way is to make it into a redirect to the correct page. Replacing the text with #REDIRECT [[Target page name]] will do the trick.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 02:19, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like someone already did it. But now you know for the future. :) --Fabrictramp | talk to me 02:21, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
