Hi. I am an admin on the Arabic Wikipedia. The title of the Arabic equivalent of WP:AWB/CP contains a typo. Current title is: ar:ويكيبيديا:قائمة الويكيبيديون المسموح لهم باستخدام الأوتو ويكي براوزر whereas it should be: ar:ويكيبيديا:الأوتوويكي براوزر/مسموح. Could you, please, fix this in AWB source code? Thanks. --Meno25 (talk) 00:04, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

When I follow the URL you provide then press the edit button I end up at the original link. Rjwilmsi 20:11, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
This is because it is a redirect. Moving the page to the correct title results in disabling the software for everyone. Can you fix this? --Meno25 (talk) 22:20, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Press the edit button on the page you want and post that URL, and I will change it in the source code. I would do it myself, but on the Arabic wiki I can't understand how to do it. Rjwilmsi 22:33, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Here it is. --Meno25 (talk) 08:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Done rev 4069 URL updated. Up to you to manage the fact that current AWB references the old URL and the SVN version the new one, and the next release of AWB may be an optional upgrade. Rjwilmsi 08:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

AWB

Hi Rjwilmsi! I just looked up the following edit from Mongolian language: "gen fixes: (1) set identical unnamed references to use named refs (1), using AWB". If I remember correctly, that set some a/b-s into the reference list and slightly shortened it. Could you do the same for Oirat language? G Purevdorj (talk) 16:14, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks! G Purevdorj (talk) 20:10, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

What about the 88w8388 ?

Dear Rjwilmsi,

i found the very interesting article List of Marvell Technology Group chipsets, edited by you.

i see no mention to the 88w8388 chipset, responsible for wireless in the OLPC XO, for instance.

is there any reason for that ?

All the best, hilton —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hgfernan (talkcontribs) 16:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Brian Giovannini

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Brian Giovannini, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Notability not verified. All Google hits for ""Brian Giovannini" "postage due"" appear to be mirrors of the Wikipedia article, or self-published sources such as wikis. The impressive number of mirrors is due to the article's creation date: 2003...

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Wrong removal of </p>

[1] broke formatting by deleting an ending </p> while there still was a starting <p style="font-family:monospace; line-height:130%">. Did AWB make this change by itself? <p> is in Help:HTML in wikitext#Permitted HTML. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:05, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes, it did – the AWB logic to remove </p> was too simple. rev 4106 resolves it for the next AWB release. Thanks Rjwilmsi 22:16, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Erroneous date fix

Looks like this edit was "fixing" something which was a direct quote and, as such, ought to remain as it is. I've undone it, but if I'm wrong and you were actually changing it cause the quote was wrong, then go ahead and re-do your edit. Thanks for doing so many corrections on dates and other tedious matters! --Icarus (Hi!) 19:05, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I've added 'pre' tags to that article so the text is identified as quoted. Rjwilmsi 19:10, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I noticed edits removing ordinals in references; example from Postage stamps and postal history of Palestine:
  • Fluri, Ernst (1973). The minhelet ha’am period : (1st to 15th May 1948).
This is a title of a book and, like direct quotes, should not be changed. Please review your edit policy for such instances. Thanks. Bleddynefans (talk) 19:18, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
If the {{citation}} template is used for these references (see examples on Abraham Lincoln) then AWB will understand that they are references and should not be altered in this way, so won't change them. Thanks Rjwilmsi 11:29, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
