Template: Football player infobox could be used to obtain birth/death information

{{Football player infobox}} has entries called "dateofbirth" and "dateofdeath" which could be used to obtain birth/death information, like I did in this one. -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:00, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Any chance that AWB can handle these cases? Someone added tenths in this style i.e. commented out {{Birth date and age}} and {{Death date and age}} and added dates without commas. What is to be done: Add commas and add categories at the bottom. Only the latter would be ok for me as well. The articles I am discussing can be found in Category:Military personnel stubs. Yikes!

I appreciate the intent, but...yikes! AWB has been "fixing" references in the Olympic-Wallowa Lineament article in a manner I find quite distressing. Particularly, it finds what it thinks are duplicate references, then names one and replaces the other with a link (with the combined reference having the typical ^^{a b} superscripts). While I agree there are some cases where this is a good idea, I must object to it here. Although I have a fair number of references which are identical in content, I deem the order and numbering to be of importance. If there is some deep-seated Wikipedia principle here I should like to hear about it. Otherwise, would you mind leaving the references alone? (Fixing the spelling is okay, as I leave plenty of lint to pick in that regard.) Thanks. - J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 18:30, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

I second this comment. It is not helpful to switch to lettered instances when the article is already using shortened footnotes. Reverted changes to USRC Thomas Corwin (1876). The idea is simply to avoid duplication in the references list at the bottom of the article to aid readability. There's no change in 'citation style' (e.g. {{harv}} vs. {{cite book}}).Rjwilmsi 10:23, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Tropicana Las Vegas and Comedy Stop

Please be aware that I removed The Comedy Stop from the attractions section of the Tropicana Las Vegas InfoBox, this is due to the fact that The Comedy Stop was kicked out by Tropicana management over non-payment of rent. Another type of publication typo

Some people have used "publication" when they meant "journal" rather than publisher. See this example. JackSchmidt (talk) 16:21, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

Stephano Sabetti Orphan page status

Hello Rjwilnsi!

As the creator editor of the Stephano Sabetti article, I recently saw your addition of the Orphan status to the article. I could use your assistance. I hesitate to insinuate myself into the articles others have created, for example, on Ramana Maharshi, by adding text and possibly upsetting the authors. How would you suggest I proceed? Maharshi, Krishnamurti, Lowen, Pierrakos, et al. were influences on his teachings, but though Sabetti has a following and has written much, he hasn't gained the household status of some of these others. Please advise. By the way, thanks for your editing corrections.

Citation bot

The citation bot is buggy, and is deleting names of coauthors randomly. For instance, I believe you run the bot on this page [1] and it removed the names of Linial and Widgerson. --Robin (talk) 00:50, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Delinking dates

I concur, FWIW. I see near-zero resistance to de-linking of dates any longer, now that the initial poopstorm of knee-jerk reactions to any and all change has died down. Redo AWB run

You may want to redo this AWB run. I had to revert the article back to a form that it was in in August, as the page had been mangled so badly by a vandal or utter cluebie that it couldn't really be practicably repaired manually. Rich told me he is not really active on it, so it is mainly you, I guess. I am the one who pushed the deprecation of these parameters. I have done some more of these, although I was asking for bot approval, it seems to take forever - there are mostly more complex ones now too. citation fixes - pp.

When you are "fixing" citations with AWB you are removing pp. from the pages field in Cite journal. Cite Journal, unlike cite book etc does not automatically add pp. or p, to the pages field, so your edits are merely making the references harder to read.
