Bob Livingston[edit]

Hi Bob, your edit summery says that "Everything is copywritten and verifiable", but as Superm401 notes above, we cannot have copyrighted text on Wikipedia; Wikipedia articles are licenced under the GFDL, which is incompatible with copyright laws. I know that you must want to correct and improve your own biography, but wikipedia "discourages people from writing new articles about themselves or expanding existing ones significantly", however "subjects of articles remain welcome to edit articles to correct inaccuracies, to remove inaccurate or unsourced material, or to remove libel.". Please also remember to keep things verifiable, written from a neutral point of view, and don't include any original research (everything must have a citation; "I know this is true because it's about me" isn't good enough for an encyclopedia unfortunately!) Thanks, and enjoy your time on Wikipedia! Here's my standard greeting message with some links you may find useful:

Welcome!!

RE: Bob Livingston[edit]

Hi Bob, thanks for your interest in improving Wikipedia. First of all, as I've said above, Wikipedia strongly discourages people from creating articles about themselves, because of the conflict of interest this unavoidably brings. However, if you're adamant about doing this anyway, you must make sure to keep things verifiable, write from a neutral point of view, and don't include any original research. Also, don't tag your article onto the top of the existing Bob Livingston article - you should make a new article named Bob Livingston (artist), and add a disambiguation link to the top of the Bob Livingston page. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Cowboys & Indians, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from www.texasmusic.org/cowboys_indians.php. As a copyright violation, Cowboys & Indians appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Cowboys & Indians has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Cowboys & Indians. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Cowboys & Indians, after describing the release on the talk page. However, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Deleted page "Cowboys & Indians"[edit]

A page you created, or image you uploaded, Cowboys & Indians, has been deleted in accordance with our deletion policy. In particular, it meets the one or more criteria for speedy deletion; the relevant criterion is:

Blatant copyright infringement which meets these parameters: material was copied from another website which does not have a license compatible with Wikipedia; there is no non-infringing content in the page history worth saving; the infringement was introduced at once by a single person rather than created organically on wiki and then copied by another website such as one of the many Wikipedia mirrors; uploader does not assert permission (for images: no assertion aside from tags) or fair use, or the assertion is questionable.

Wikipedia has certain standards for inclusion that all articles must meet. Certain types of article must establish the notability of their subject by asserting its importance or significance. Additionally, since Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, content inappropriate for an encyclopedia, or content that would be more suited to somewhere else (such as a directory or social networking website) is not acceptable. See What Wikipedia is not for the relevant policy.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable notability guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content; it will be deleted again and may be protected from re-creation. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article. If you have any questions, please contact an administrator for assistance. License tagging for Image:Bob livingston web.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bob livingston web.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:
