Help request[edit]

I have been asked over and over again to create a page for the artwork of my late husband. I believe he counts as a "friend" but there is no one else to create this page because everyone has some interest in it (i.e., they own artwork by him and would benefit from his reputation being increased.) I am sure that nothing I write will be controversial or even read as "promotional" and I would of course allow anyone to edit the page. May I please create this page?

  • There are a few things at play here. Are you wanting to create an article about your husband? Or about his artwork? The first thing that you need to do determine whether or not an article would be suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Articles should be about topics that have received significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. It is essential that the subject is recognized as notable, in accordance with specific guidelines. Once we are able to determine whether or not the subject meets the guidelines (it depends on the subject), it is recommended that you draft the article in a subpage of your userspace, for example, here: User:Robin.f.moore/sandbox. Once you create the article, you can then ask for feedback through the Articles for Creation process. You can review the Conflict of Interest guideline here: WP:COI. Feel free to contact me directly if you have additional questions. Cindy(talk to me) 16:08, 1 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
