Approved draft[edit]

Hello Rockboy1009. Contrary to Mach61 and Ca's declines, I've approved your draft for Sharks (song) (was at Sharks (Imagine Dragons song), but the disambiguation has been simplified). I believe the song is clearly notable outside of receiving critical reviews—plenty of songs that are charting right now, on the charts in 2024, do not receive many, if any, reviews from usable musical publications. I believe a lot of draft reviewers do not place any stock in a song charting internationally, reaching the top 40 of certain charts, and being certified gold in multiple countries, which denote millions of streams, which this song has done, but I do, so I have approved it. Made the redirect based on notability, but that was before I noticed it was a copy and paste move from an existing draft which has already been rejected. Rockboy1009, just want to make clear that copy and paste moves are explicitly against the rules, and circumventing the draft process when your article has been rejected can be a serious issue. Please don't do it again. Also tagging in Robert McClenon and Mach61 who both rejected the draft previously so they know what happened. QuietHere (talk | contributions) 04:21, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Rockboy1009 In Rockboy's defense, AfC isn't required. I think a formal deletion discussion is the best way to decide the article's fate. Mach61 04:59, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
wrong ping, meant @QuietHere Mach61 04:59, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:QuietHere - As a terminological distinction, neither User:Mach61 nor I rejected the draft. We declined the draft. There is a difference. Rejection does not allow resubmission, while a decline does. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:05, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
User:Rockboy1009 - Copy-paste moves are not permitted, because they do not maintain attribution, and so are a form of plagiarism. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:05, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will look at this again within 24 hours. It is 0100 local time. Robert McClenon (talk) 05:05, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see that I declined the draft with the note that it lacked Reception or charting information. Those are needed to establish musical notability. The version that was then declined by User:Mach61 was almost the same as the version that I declined. Two reviewers think that it isn't ready for mainspace. The most recent update is that User:QuietHere has redirected the article to the band. I suggest that we leave it as a redirect, and that if Rockboy1009 or anyone else restores the article, we take the advice of User:Mach61 and submit an AFD nomination.
