Please be sure to include a summary with every edit to pages other than your own user pages, even if the edit is minor. I'm not really involved into season articles, but as far as I know, the opponents' goalscorers are not usually listed. You can check yourself at WP:SEASONS. Well, I know you've done a lot of work, but articles of the same kind are supposed to be consistent. That's why we have WikiProjects and the Manuals of Style: they set standards based on consesus, which editors are expected to follow. Expatriates here, there and everywhere

Not sure what the point is of your mass editing of people to add multiple locations where they are expats? Surely in general people (for tax purposes etc) live in one location? I have already revert one of your edits and will continue to do so. If you feel the need to add them again please provide a RS. Bjmullan (talk) 12:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Well, in those cases, the people have lived in different places. If you take Jacques Villeneuve as the ideal example, he was born in Canada to racing driver Gilles and his wife Joanne Villeneuve. When his father got a contract with Ferrari in Europe, they moved to Monaco. Following Gilles' death, Jacques and his family moved to Switzerland, where he stayed until he got an offer to race in the Japanese Formula Three Championship, which rendered he moved there for a year. Then he contested IndyCar in the United States, residing in Florida for a couple of years. Having won IndyCar and Indianapolis 500, he moved to Formula One, and then resided in Monaco, until he moved to Switzerland once more, when he and wife Johanna expected their first child. So, there you are.

In my opinion it should be, because in most articles about civilian persons, descents and expatriate countries are covered, so that shoudl apply to sportspeople as well, if somebody bothers to add it? Roslagen 14:24, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure it's noteworthy at all, especially since where these people lived isn't actually relevant to anything, and has no bearing on what they did in life. Racing drivers live in many different countries throughout their lives, and categorising them based on where they lived part-time for a couple of years here and there seems pointless. Moreover, very little of this stuff is mentioned in the articles themselves, particularly all these guys who may or may not have lived in Monaco at some point. Therefore the categories are misleading. I think a consensus should either be produced, or established. Bretonbanquet (talk) 16:48, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Parma F.C. and associated articles

Hi there, I've recently tweaked the main Parma F.C. article and have supplemented it with a few additional articles and plan to keep the 2010-11 season article up-to-date as well. While browsing, I noticed you had created several season articles for Parma and I was just wondering where you got your statistics for previous seasons from, as they have by and large been a great help. Categories, re Mauro Zárate

Hello. I undid your addition of several categories to Mauro Zárate before, and am about to do so again. WP:BLP says that "the case for each category must be made clear by the article text and its reliable sources". There's nothing in the article to indicate that Mr Zárate is of Spanish descent or that he is a naturalised Italian citizen. Without article text verified by reliable sources, those categories don't belong on the page. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:58, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Zárate is a Spanish name, and no other than Spaniards came to Argentina with Spanish names. Therefore he is of partial Spanish descent, which, of course, goes for most Argentinians... He acquired his Italian citizenship with approval of his Italian descent, and is therefore a naturalised Italian citizen. Roslagen (talk) 19:56, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

If his only link with Spain is at possibly some centuries distance, like most Argentinians, that strikes me as too tenuous a link to be a valuable categorisation. Nevertheless, having a surname associated with a particular nation isn't a reliable published source for his being of that descent. As to naturalisation, if he is indeed a naturalised citizen of Italy, there should be no difficulty finding a reliable published source to confirm it. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 07:01, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Italian Wikipedia is indeed listing Zárate as an Italian citizen and here's an article in Italian suggesting that Zárate would consider playing for the Italian national team, having received his Italian passport in 2009[1]. Cheers! Roslagen (talk) 10:42, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Re: Original Research

1. another Wikipedia is not a valid source.
2. "that Wikipedia didn't have sources" is not a valid excuse.
3. "U.C. Sampdoria spent the 1994-95 season mired in the midfield, since its remarkable offensive play from the 1993-94 season failed to occur. " is original research. Calling people "creative" without citations is original research. Describing something as "disappointing" or "competent" without citations is original research. If reliable sources have used these terms, include those sources. If these are personal opinions, they have no place on Wikipedia. Ironholds (talk) 14:45, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

I've read it, and I don't think they're irrelevant whatsoever. Most categories I'm involved in means just filling out on previous categorizations, and the ones I start are related to already existing categories for other nationalities, especially when it comes to Football players and managers. It has nothing to do with football. Nothing. You have made no attempt to prove if any of these guys actually lived in the US. If they did, how long do they have to live there before you include them? Because you marked the category for deletion, I've never seen that banner for a normal user. But, sorry mate. It was more about the entire sentence, calling my rationale completely and utterly arbritrary and therefore they have no place in an uncyclopedia. Anyone can do that. Anyway, your rationale is arbitrary because you have made no attempt to verify how long a driver spent in the US, whether he had a home there or just visited for races, and there is no cut-off point for inclusion. Specifically, how long does someone have to live there before he is included? Nobody knows. You even included Beretta, who took part in one NASCAR race. One. He probably spent a week there. Maybe nobody questions your edits on the Swedish Wikipedia, but we all edit in the knowledge that we are here to be criticised if someone thinks it appropriate. What criteria? Taking part in a US-based racing series? What part of that isn't already covered by Category:American Le Mans Series drivers? Regarding Beretta, time would be far better spent actually putting that information in the article text, rather than hoping a vague category would cover it. Fooian sportspeople of Fooian descent

Notice you're creating a LOT of these to articles. Are you assuming this simply on the basis of surnames? Or do you know? What is someone alters theire name by deed poll, would that then give them in your eyes a ethnicity descent that they never actually had? I only ask because there is a lot, and it seems to co-incide with peoples names and no evidence of actual descent is provided. --Falcadore (talk) 03:18, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi mate! What I've added in terms of Australian sportspeople of Italian descent are the sportspeople already registered as of Italian descent, like Bresciano, Grella, Patrizi, and other dead-certs. Also, I can't think of any male people of say, English descent, voluntarily changing their surnames to Italian ones, especially considering the way people looked down on the Italians in Australia back in the 1900's. This is at least the second time that your assumptions have been used to overcategorize articles. We cannot add categories to biographies based solely on your assumptions and a self-created criteria. Please concentrate on adding information to articles in text rather than adding categories. If a football/ice hockey/basketball/handball player plays for a club in a country, it's 100 % that he lives there too, at least during the seasons. I'm more than certain that references for Ronaldo, Obama, and Schumacher's residences exist and in fact do exist on their respective articles. However your assumption of "All (X Sport) players who play for a team must live in that same country" is not remotely similar to a reference. It is an assumption created by you and easily falls under original research. You have no clear criteria or evidence for what is considered "living in a country". According to the transfer list summer 2007, he DID NOT HOLDS Spanish passport. He may obtain one after that date but please cite it with relevant source, such as a news article. Well, no it isn't. Thing is that that section only covers the Tottenham goalscorers and the number of spectators et cetera. My additions offer the scorers of the opposition team, something essential when ever it comes to game results. It's an issue of time and motivation. Spurs are not my favourite team, so I just add the league matches, especially when it's covered OK already, like there. There is such a system, but unless it's made from scratch it's hard to implement. I don't find it duplicate information, the fact is that I've done this model with all seasons from 1995-96, so it's natural to continue until present day. Roslagen (talk) 23:16, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

The older seasons' articles don't have the tables, so you're not replicating anything there but you are with the more recent ones. The format that you're using also means that the reader doesn't know which team each scorer was playing for. I really don't think this is the best system. Hey. I noticed you made the page, 1997–98 Nottingham Forest F.C. season, and I was just wondering where you got the information and scorers for the matches? http://www.soccerbase.com/teams Then there's Forest's club page under the Championship banner. Once there (http://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=1845&comp_id=2#teamTabs=results), press the season you'd like to find the results from. Complete goal scorers on behalf of both teams are available in the 1992-93 season + from 1995-96 onwards. Older results can be found too, with goalscorers back to 1989 or something like that, albeit goalscoring minutes are not included in the seasons not mentioned above.

Cards in season pages

This is concerning your removal of the red and yellow cards in 2011–12 S.S. Lazio season individual matches. If all of the matches are collapsible, why not keep them there? Wiffleclaw (talk) 03:38, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Please don't remove cards from footballboxes in the future. Don't remove card information from infoboxes because, along with goals, cards are considered match information which is what the boxes are for. Otherwise, I must say you are doing a fantastic job. I've been cleaning up your considerable work here and there, such as adding dates, location and stadium, attendance, and referee information to the footballboxes. Hey, I'm just wondering what website you use to gain details on squads for a particular club's season? Eg you made the page for 1991–92 S.S.C. Napoli season and you included the squad details. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.
