Image copyright problem with Image:Bunraku.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bunraku.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or ask for help at Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. Thank you. -- Carnildo 12:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with Image:Jjredick11.jpg[edit]

An image that you uploaded, Image:Jjredick11.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Images on Wikipedia[edit]

After I listed your J.J. Redick image for deletion I took a look at some of the other images you've added and noticed that many are listed as coming from Google Images. However, Google Images provides links to images, rather than the images themselves. Listing the URL of the site hosting the image will help other Wikipedia editors to determine its copyright status.

Also, please take a look at the links concerning Wikipedia copyright policy which another user left on this page. You might save yourself the frustration of having your uploaded images deleted. Thanks. --djrobgordon 06:00, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Malcom McLean[edit]

I've had to delete this article as blatent copyvio. I can see that you were re-weriting it, but great paving slabs of it were still word-for-word from the forbes article. Re-write it first and then upload it, ok? - brenneman{L} 06:25, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I've placed an indefinate block on this account until such a time as you make it clear that you understand why posting copyright violating material is a bad thing. You can use the {{unblock}} tag on this page to get administrator attention.

brenneman{L} 02:56, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Based upon your e-mail I'm unblocking you. I completely understand your concern that this action was "heavy-handed." However, it's standard policy when it comes to copyright violations to shoot first and ask questions later, if for no other reason than to get people's attention. If you followed the link above there were some long sections that are still word-for-word from the source articles. Try writing this from scratch. - brenneman{L} 04:06, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll do third try. Ross Plaetzer Rossp 04:09, 18 April 2006 (UTC)rossp[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marcelmarceau.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Bunraku[edit]

I'm working on removing all of the copyright violations from bunraku. Could you give me a hand? Please remove all of the material you copied from other web sites and books. I'm having trouble separating the copyright violations from the legitimate material. Thanks! TomTheHand 16:14, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After some more thought, I decided to revert the article back to the December version before copyrighted material was added. I'd like to invite you to work on the article but be careful not to violate any copyrights in the process. TomTheHand 16:28, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your Mass Deleting at Coleman Page[edit]

I disagree with you that the text is POV. It is descriptive and informative. It is biased against neither gentleman, presenting representative comments from both. It allows readers to draw their own conclusions. It allows people to learn about Coleman. I do not care for your insinuations at my talk page "you appear driven by some agenda (I will not put an adjective in front of it but it is obvious what it is)." If you have something to say then say it, otherwise silence is the best policy rather than making insinuations. My problem with your mass deleting is that it occurred without editorial discussion and to longstanding NPOV text that allows people to learn about Sen. Perhaps thou dost protest too much[edit]

I find it odd that only minutes after I unprotected Gerry Studds from WP:BLP protection at your request, User:69.175.27.227 mysteriously showed up to revert the information. At the same minute it appeared, you stopped editing. Now that the IP has been blocked for 48 hours, you're not editing anymore either. Hmmm. Odd coincidence, that. Personal attacks[edit]

You have been blocked for 12 hours for this personal attack. Please refrain from uncivil language and behaviour. FCYTravis 05:38, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's something missing here: "His best year was 1955, when he averaged 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds for Syracuse, and , 4-3. Lloyd and Jim Tucker were the first African-Americans to play on an NBA championship team." Clarityfiend 06:35, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite block[edit]

Even after the multiple warnings and blocks above you still violated copyright in writing Alfred Bestall as late as a couple of months ago. I'm placing an indefinite block on your account. Haukur 19:28, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Daniel Corrigan (photographer), by Btball, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Daniel Corrigan (photographer) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Daniel Corrigan (photographer), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Daniel Corrigan (photographer) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:48, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Rossp! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 901 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Non-Free rationale for File:ImageDB.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:ImageDB.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under Non-Free content criteria but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a Non-Free rationale.

If you have uploaded other Non-Free media, consider checking that you have specified the Non-Free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:41, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
