A tag has been placed on Tonkin Corporation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because ....

the article appears to be about a company without indicating how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Past versions to not indicate anything encyclopedic. External references to the company are sparse and, where indicated, appear to be related party sites in circular reference. Further there seems to be editorial argument about the nature of this business' activities, with all competing versions contributing nothing to the importance or significance of this company.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- pb30<talk> 16:35, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there,
For what it's worth, I think Tonkin Corporation is clearly not a candidate for speedy deletion. I noticed that you blanked the page Law & Finance, which had the contents of Tonkin Corporation. Wikipedia has a method to move pages in a graceful manner which preserves the log of the article's history and prevents the creation of a blank page, which can confuse users of the encyclopedia. I will move Law & Finance to Tonkin Corporation for you shortly. Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, please feel free to leave a message on my user talk page if you need any help. - RedWordSmith 16:58, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of conference companies[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of conference companies, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? 151.200.237.53 (talk) 13:32, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Image-Tonkin Corporation Logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Image-Tonkin Corporation Logo.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 08:06, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2009[edit]

Hi, I have restored Talk:Tonkin Corporation to its original point because talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice. If you think that the issues raised have been addressed, then add a response stating that. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 04:24, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 23:58, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:TonkinLogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:TonkinLogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:01, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
