Desert etymology

Hi, I see you've removed a paragraph based on your personal knowledge and experience. Let me say at once that you may very well be right - I express no opinion on the matter - but you are in effect stating that the cited source is unreliable on your own authority. Given, however, that we do have a published source, we are quite justified in stating that a suggestion has been made, whether we believe it or not: this is indeed the usual way to deal with properly published but questionable suggestions.
