A tag has been placed on File:TankAbbottGreenCover99.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file showing no evidence that the copyright holder has released it under the license indicated by the uploader which has been tagged as such for more than 7 days, and it still lacks the necessary information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. --aktsu (t / c) 09:01, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi and thanks for uploading the image but as the copyright to it is most likely owned by the original photographer or the magazine it sadly can't be used. All images on WP have to be free in the sense that the copyright holder has chosen to release it under a free license, and unless that is the case (and can be be proven) with the cover or the photo it's no good. Sorry, and let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 09:14, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have not the technical savvy of the great Aktsu and so cannot contest this in the complicated manner described above. However, as the founder of Green Magazine, I assure you that I own all rights to that image, which was purchased from the photographer and specifically stipulated that it could be reproduced any way I chose. I am very sensitive to i.p. issues and made certain that we had those rights so that we could publicize the magazine any way we liked.

Verifying permission[edit]

Thank you for your interest in donating this image to Wikipedia. There are specific processes in place for doing so. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. I'll watchlist your talk page in case you have questions about these procedures, which are in place to protect both the Wikimedia project and copyright holders such as yourself.

While I understand that it may be frustrating to have to verify your own material, unfortunately we have no other option, since we do not have any means currently of verifying identity on account creation. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:51, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
