Welcome

Bienvenido/Bienvenida
to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia!
Wikipedia is a free-content encyclopedia written in 250 languages by thousands of users like you and me from all walks of life. As a member of the Welcoming Committee, I would like to say thanks for being a part of this project.

Here are some links to help you, the new user, on your Wikipedia journey:

Whether you're new to the project or have helped us for a while, remember to use edit summaries when you're done with a page. Summaries are important because, with those, other editors will understand what you have done with the content. REMEMBER: think twice before clicking "Save page" below the editing box, since whatever you write in the summary box will permamently go in the history of any page. (Spellchecking is important; you cannot change the summary data after you have finished editing.)

Remember, also, to sign your name with four tildes (~~~~) or by pressing this button (Signature button) above the box, whenever leaving comments on talk pages.

If you want to know how you're doing on Wikipedia, feel free to check out your list of contributions.

If you don't know how to do something, type {{helpme}} on your talk page, and administrators will come to solve your problems.

After you've stayed here for a while, you might want to take an editor review, or, even better, take a chance at adminship.

Wherever the journey takes you, I wish you the best of luck and respect on Wikipedia. If you have any questions about my expertise or this site, you can e-mail me or talk to me, and I will see about the situation as best as possible.

In the meantime, happy editing!

User Angr[edit]

Hi Ruud!

Regarding Angr, if his edits are too nonsensical, maybe you should seek arbitration instead of a protracted edit war. I don't think that user can be blocked (some of his edits are good, others less so), but you could get some more people on your side so hopefully Angr will lose interest in that article. Angr seems to be intelligent, but not exactly very socially aware (autistic?), so to him his behavior might seem entirely reasonable. I think it's true that many WP editors, especially those who seem to spend their entire day on WP, are a bit, ummm, special, if you get my drift, so you have to take that into account.

So don't expect that you can make him understand what he's doing wrong, instead look for some reinforcements. What I wrote was also meant to document his behavior rather than in the hopes of reforming him. Besides, he has deleted material from his user talk page where somebody called him an idiot (and rightly so), so maybe that would be a nice way to prove to others he's not very fair and truthful. Just point them to his talk page history.

Ultimately that user is almost certain to be blocked at some point, so the goal right now should be to limit the damage (if any) he's causing so we don't have to endlessly clean up after him later. :-) Morn (talk) 12:07, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

July 2011[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Protestant Church in the Netherlands. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Cognate247 (talk) 21:36, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
