Creating new articles

Hi Valdemar2018, congratulations on being able to successfully create several new stub articles on grasshopper species and genera. I know that there are so many new things to learn when first starting that it can sometimes feel like sipping from a fire hose! Given your interest in insect articles, I would like to invite you to join the WikiProject Insects, a series of pages in the "WP:" space that provides resources for like-minded editors to create and maintain insect articles in a common framework. This includes the project talk pages which serve as a forum for discussions on project topics.

Also, you may have noticed that each page (even your user page) has a corresponding talk page which can be accessed by the "Talk" tab near the top left of the page. Once you have created a new article, you can then create the talk page. For example, you could open an existing talk page such as Talk:Pusana, select the "edit source" tab and copy the text (then closing it without saving any changes). You can then paste this text onto a new talk page (such as Talk:Rhytidacris) to create it. I hope these points are useful to you. 'Cheers, and happy editing, Loopy30 (talk) 01:05, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

G4 tagging

Hello there,

G4 does not apply to the articles that were deleted via Speedy deletion previously. It is only applied to the recreation of a page that was deleted per a deletion discussion. Regards. Hitro talk 06:29, 18 October 2020 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Valdemar2018. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:04, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Hello

Hello, how are you this fine day. would you kindly tell me, do you do editing for pages, I have a couple questions. Since I was edited promptly, is there a proper way to display the name and occupation of an individual on Wikipedia? I would like to simply, be searchable and I'm not sure how to go about the way that my fellow musisians and professionals are able to put the same thing I did, and not get promptly deleted. Thankyou, I would appreciate some guidance on this. AmberLynn Browning (talk) 22:35, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Twinkle?

Hi there. I've noticed your UAA reports and speedy-deletion tagging – great work! You seem to be doing it all manually, so I was curious if you're familiar with Twinkle. Twinkle has a lot of great features, but it's really useful in speedy-deletion tagging: it can tag the page, notify the user, and (if you like) log the event, all with the click of a few buttons. It's also helpful for UAA: you can just pick a reason, add an optional explanation, and click "submit". Twinkle has probably at least doubled my productivity in these fields, as well as a number of others. You can read more about it here: it's easy to enable and (at least compared to some other tools I've used) fairly intuitive. I'd encourage you to give it a try! Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks again for your work. Cheers, Extraordinary Writ (talk) 20:17, 6 July 2021 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion

Hello, Valdemar2018,

I appreciate your work but I think you are a little eager tagging pages for speedy deletion. Sandboxes are supposed to be a safe place where editors can develop articles and, especially for accounts that have only been active for one day, the expectations are different than they are for articles or even drafts. One day is not enough time to learn and understand Wikipedia policies about promotional editing. So, I encourage you to post talk page notices educating these new editors rather than tagging pages for deletion when they've barely had time to write a paragraph. Thank you. Liz Read! Speedy Deletion

Sorry Ruy I thought this was just a page for contributors to post their personal information for other contributors. I now understand that I was actually creating a Wikipedia page.

Regarding the page of the user Shaban Roman Petrovich. Thank you for your point of view😊

I respect your point of view. And thank you. for a friendly tone (which is unfortunately lacking in some other users). However, I want to explain that this page is not a forum. In it, I explained in a few words - only directly what concerns me as a registered user and editor of Wikipedia. In addition, you correctly noted that "usually" the discussion page is intended to improve encyclopedic articles. That's why I will try to use it.

In addition, today I have further reduced the information about the situation that has happened to me, so that it is not a stumbling block for you. --Shaban Roman Petrovich (talk) 16:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Arbitration Request for Wikimedia Foundation

I would also like to ask for help with my editing of the Wikimedia Foundation article. On August 27, I published updated information, as of 2021. However, the user WikiLinuz canceled it - without proper explanation. Thanks! --Shaban Roman Petrovich (talk) 16:13, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

RuPaul’s Drag Race (Season 14)

Hello,

I got your message in regards to the filters. However, I noticed that in other farewell messages in this season, hearts and kisses emojis were accepted. Hey! I haven't been active on wikipedia recently, and i remembered that you had placed a tag requesting that my user page be deleted speedily. I did not understand this so i forgot about this. But noow i have decided to contact you regarding this, since i want to have an answer. There never was anything on my user page, and i edited it to say:
"This is literally my user page why should it be deleted
i have never put anything here"
Back when i noticed you had requested its speedy deletion.
Can you please clarify your reasons for this? DonkeyMan32 (talk) 09:39, 23 March 2023 (UTC)

Comment

Hello, Ruy,

Please do not come down hard on very new editors that are trying to create articles in their User space. Such articles will be far from perfect, probably have poor sourcing and be badly written. This is how most new editors start out. So, please do not tag their earliest efforts for immediate deletion unless the content is objectionable, like BLP-violating content, copyright violations are is BLATANT advertising. But editors improve as editors by editing and making lots of mistakes. Rather than patrolling User space, your time would be better spent watching the main space of the project to make sure inappropriate content isn't placed where our readers can see it.

Thank you for all of your contributions! Liz Read! Talk! 03:54, 19 February 2024 (UTC)
