Mail[edit]

You've got mail. :) --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 16:10, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And I've responded :-) No need to remind me, that's what Outlook is for. —METS501 (talk) 16:15, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Erm, you seem to have created an empty AfD page as a test... Should I delete it? WjBscribe 02:06, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead. I was testing and forgot that it would create a page for me. I reverted all my edits, but didn't have time to speedy it. Thanks! --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 03:40, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks[edit]

Thank you for your Support on my recent nomination for adminship, which passed with a final tally of 89/1/1. If there's anything I can help with, then you know where to find me. Cheers.

TeckWizBot bad subst of a uw-spam1 on User talk:75.22.228.135[edit]

It looks quite a bit worse after being subst'ed; I think there was some mistranslation of characters happening. Previous stuff about uw-spam4im removed as I'd been thinking of another page!

Not sure...but thought you'd be interested in the case. PS the edit was flagged m rather than b for some reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scbomber (talkcontribs)

This is a problem with MediaWiki in general. The bot uses the subst=subst: hack, which should be used, but it only works when a parameter is specified. I have already filed a request with AWB to see if they can have it recognize when to use subst=subst: or just subst:. Please see the last two sections on the bot's talk page. It's the same thing. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 16:47, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rained out[edit]

Todays Yankee game was rained out. Although they won yesterday, their defence looks forboding. BuickCenturyDriver (Honk, contribs, odometer) 22:24, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm actually a little surprised. It wasn't raining that hard at all today. I think they would've been fine if they played. On a side, note, you should take that edit count out of your sig, it's a violation of WP:SIG to have external links in your signature. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 22:27, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to discuss that policy on WT:SIG. I'm surprised no one said a word about it up until now. BuickCenturyDriver (Honk, contribs, odometer) 22:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(back to the baseball discussion) It's easier for them to let a game be rained out very early in the season, since there are lots of dates when it can be made up, and the players don't really want to be playing in this weather anyway. If it were later in the year they probably would have tried to play through it. Newyorkbrad 22:33, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I like the new game logs on WP, what I don't like that SNY updated the on-screen graphics for Mets games and they became the lastest to use the strip display. 24.185.34.152 00:34, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
They updated the music, also. BuickCenturydriver (Honk, contribs) 00:39, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What music? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 00:43, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Majorly's RfB[edit]

Hi TeckWiz , thanks for your strong support in my RfB. Sadly, it didn't pass, but I appreciate the support, and your kind comments and I do intend to run again eventually. I also look forward to supporting an RfA from you. See you around! Majorly (o rly?) 03:18, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Yankees[edit]

...lost to the Devil Rays 7-6. Their defence was very shoddy and if they continue like this, their chances of winning the AL East are very murky. One thing I will enjoy is updating the log templates (Yankees and Mets). BuickCenturydriver (Honk, contribs) 04:19, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More Template Substitution[edit]

When you have time, can you add uw-ablock and uw-3rrblock to the templates to subst regex. Also, as I look at the current SVN, it seems uw-coi1 is in it, but not uw-coi. Can you add that also? Thanks! (and if you don't want to be bothered anymore, just tell me and I'll put the templates needed to be added on the bug page instead) --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 23:41, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm programming something so that this can be done easier, because I see the need for it now :-) —METS501 (talk) 00:21, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks[edit]

Thank you for your support on my Request for adminship, which finished successfully, with unanimous support of 40/0/0.

I will do my best to serve Wikipedia and the community. Again thanks.

Re: Strange Subst?[edit]

Well, as we're not supposed to use templates in signatures, I was bold and went ahead and subst'd them all, as he had missed several. I brought it to his attention and I mentioned how he can put that subst in his raw signature to make signing easier and less prone to messing that up. ^demon[omg plz] 18:10, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Pie[edit]

Which part? The "the day the anons died" is an allusion to the restriction on new pages. The "this'll be the day that I die", well, I haven't found a replacement for that. Yet. Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 01:38, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username issue[edit]

Doesn't look too random to me, almost all those characters are the ordering of the middle row of keys, minus the end keys, on a standard QWERTY keyboard. Adding a "p" doesn't really make it random, nor is an 8-character username excessively long or confusing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 01:26, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your RFA[edit]

I'm sorry you didn't make it. Give it some time and I'm sure you'll pass. Your RFA was quite close as it was, just take the criticism you got with an open mind and build on it. You'll be an admin soon enough, I know it. The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me) 00:05, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah unlucky, you really did deserve it. Your RfA was very close, so hoefully next time it will pass. The opposes weren't major, and you can always work from them. Best of luck in the future -- Ryan Postlethwaite 00:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response To "TeckWiz's RFA"[edit]

I've responded on both talk pages. :)

Hey Acalamari. Thanks for supporting my unsuccessful RFA this week. I hope to keep helping and improving Wikipedia alongside you. At the moment I'm forgetting where I've seen you around. I know it's somewhere :).--TeckWiz ParlateContribs@(Lets go Yankees!) 01:23, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. :) You saw me at my unsuccessful RfA, you used to see me at RFCN; but we do encounter each other on the AfD's. That's where you've seen me. :) Don't let the unsuccessful RfA let you down; keep positive, and treat the entire thing as a large-scale editor review. A failed RfA is less of a failure than you think (I should know, mine wasn't a success). You be can be assured I will support you next time. :) Acalamari 01:38, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. —AldeBaer 02:14, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA[edit]

I am really sorry about your RfA, TeckWiz. Please don't be discouraged and concentrate your efforts in responding to the concerns raised by those who opposed you. I'm sure that you'll succeed next time. Meanwhile, happy editing! :-) Best regards, Húsönd 01:47, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Really sorry about your latest RfA, TeckWiz. Keep on editing, especially in mainspace, and I am sure you will get there. Regards, Yaf 03:06, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Don't worry. You'll get there eventually if you want to and work at it. Simply south 10:02, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto. Good luck with the new image, just thought you ought to know your user page isn't completely clear of your old image (if you catch my drift). All the best. The Rambling Man 21:43, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is a complete and absolute crime that your RFA didn't pass. Thanks for trying, though, and I hope you'll try again. Philippe 03:22, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello, again, TeckWiz. Make sure you register the old name to make sure no one else take it. BuickCenturydriver (Honk, contribs) 02:48, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I missed your RfA...[edit]

I should watch this page more often. Anyway, I think you're a good contributor to Wikipedia and I know you'll pass next time :). (Ok, I know a lot of people told you that, and that it might sound condescending (sp?), but you really sound like being more than 12, I woulnd't have guessed :). Keep up the good work! -- lucasbfr talk 11:38, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning your signature[edit]

Ah, well, as I was checking my talk page for new posts, I noticed that your signature had a grammatical mistake (being the stickler that I am). Just wanted to point out that it should be "Let's go Yankees" instead of "Lets go Yankees". Regards, mouseymouse

I guess I missed that. Thanks :) --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@(Let's go Yankees!) 14:31, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Right after I posted a request for Secretlondon to go back to the WP:CHU page, I saw your comment there. How do you like my new username (I think yours is good, like as in "The editor formally known as R" :-) )? ~ Magnus animum (aka Steptrip) 16:38, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:[edit]

What do you think of this? By the way, is their any reason you changed your user name to R? Wǐkǐɧérṃǐť(Talk) 18:53, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I like it. --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@(Let's go Yankees!) 18:59, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
How could anyone misspell "TecWiz?" haha. Wǐkǐɧérṃǐť(Talk) 01:47, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I was TeckWiz. When I created my account, I had misspelled it intentionally. However, in discussions, I have seen myself being called TechWiz a countless number of times. There's no way someone can misspell R. Ooops...spoke too soon. There's always the possibility of Ř, Я, я, Ŕ, Ṛ, and Ṝ :) --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@(Let's go Yankees!) 02:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re; Raul[edit]

Well, I figured Raul was pretty much a no-risk situation to come back vandalizing as an IP, especially since it was only a 12 hour block.--Wizardman 02:15, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care. I stole it from someone :) I've seen this header used a lot around Wikipedia. (By the way, it looks a lot better in Firefox). I just added the bot part. :) --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@(Let's go Yankees!) 11:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
