Thank you! :)[edit]

Thanks so much for the beautiful note and your warm words, dear R! (tho you'll always be TeckWiz to me! ;) And thanks for the good suggestion about usurping the username Sharon, which is an idea I've had many, many times since last years. In fact, now that I think about it, I reckon I even mentioned that at my RfA somewhere... but you see, sweetie, on the other hand, I like my nick as well, and all those who know me here immediately identify it with me. Besides, Sharon is a mundane name... Phaedriel kinda sounds more musical to me ;) Anyway, thanks again - I may ask for usurpation someday, but right now, I'll go on as old Phaedriel! It's great to see you! Love, Phaedriel - 07:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note[edit]

Hey R, thanks for your note about The Halo. It was very kind of you :) Hopefully we can talk again under more pleasant circumstances. Take care of yourself! Cheers, – Riana 23:00, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: My comment at your RfA[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your thoughtful message at my talk page. I'm just writing to briefly follow up on my comment at your RfA. In rereading my second point (political userboxes), I think I came off a little more inflexible than I really am. I'm not opposed to admins having political userboxes per se, but dislike potentially provocative ones. I have no problem with userboxes that state "This user is a US citizen", "This user supports the Democratic Party", or the like. With regard to my third and fourth points ... those will become irrelevant as time passes and you continue to participate in XfD discussions. P.S. I appreciate that you personalised your message to me and others. I look forward to participating in Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/R. -- Black Falcon (Talk) 17:23, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TeckWiz's RFA[edit]

Hi Teckwiz - thank you for your comment on my talk page. I can understand why you are only now getting to people - although I personally did not expect a response at all. However regarding that comment can I reiterate please? Perhaps I did not make myself clear at the time of my oppose vote ... I have no problem at all with candidates responding to oppose !votes - in fact I do not think many !voters do - my !vote noted that your return comments (meaning the actual responses you had already given) showed an argumentative and less than mature approach that did not make me feel confident of you gaining adminship at that time. However I think you are doing a great job on Wiki and whilst I know there are people in your corner that want to see the youngest ever admin I would politely suggest to them that it shouldn't be a race to gain a record. Keep editing and thank you again for your comments.--VS talk 22:16, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Archive bot & old school archiving[edit]

Hey there! :) Yes, dear R, I've considered putting a bot to do that work, but you see - I kinda like the 2005 system for one reason: I try never to move unreplied messages into my archive. So when I see topics adding themselves and reach the 60's or 70's, it's a clear sign that my backlog is getting bigger and bigger and that I can't neglect my responsibilities any longer! ;) Seriously, tho, I may put and archive bot in the future, yes. I'd need a few pointers, tho - could you help me with that? Thanks, R! Cheers, Phaedriel - 01:30, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks sweetie! Many things have changed while I was away, and bots are everywhere now! I think I'll get it right away. That way, I won't have to depend on Messedrocker coming to tell me "hey, your Talk page is over 100 topics, want me to archive it for you?" ;) Phaedriel - 02:08, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, my dear TeckWiz/R!

And maybe I'll have to gift you this flower and a kiss! :) Thanks sweetheart! You rock! Mwah, Phaedriel - 02:13, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: uw-bite[edit]

I'm sorry, I didn't realize it had been deleted before. I'm afraid I have to agree with T-dot, however - just because the template is there doesn't mean it's going to be used on regulars. The template could be issued to a relative newbie, an IP user that does come fairly frequently but hasn't made an account, or possibly a regular who has been treating newcomers particularly nastily lately. Just because they're a regular does not mean that they're perfect - that's why WP:DTTR is an essay and not a guideline. If someone is willing to go to WP:UTM and find the template they should use to warn a member not to bite newbies, then they probably can be trusted to know when is a good time to use a template. You're welcome to put it up for deletion, of course, but I really don't think there's any reason to delete the template, unless it's clear that it is being abused. Hersfold (talk/work) 01:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree - if someone is considerably experienced, I probably would leave a custom message. I sometimes do that while warning vandals, depending on the nature of the edit I reverted and how they've responded to previous messages. I don't see why the icon should be removed, though - I included it so that it would conform with the other templates, also why I had it semi-protected. Hersfold (talk/work) 02:08, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. That could be the case for any of the single-notice templates, though. Less likely for most, I will admit, but it is possible. I still think that for the sake of conformity, the template needs to keep the logo. Hersfold (talk/work) 22:02, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re. Userpage design[edit]

Count on it, dear! I currently have five requests, so I guess yours will be ready, say, around Friday at most. It's a pity you don't have more text, and that your userpage consists basically of boxes and tables, but still it's something I can arrange. I'll let you know as soon as I'm done, sounds ok to you? And by the way, thanks again for the help with Misza's bot - that kind of technology is still out of my league! ;) I'll know at your door pretty soon, take good care in the meantime. Another RFA response[edit]

Thank you for your message about your RfA (and get well wishes). Just to clarify (and for my peace of mind), about the AR11 spoiler link, it is a major thing to identify a leak -- in this case an internet leak -- or disclosure of insider information that would be hurtful to a creator, publisher, etc. I'm sure you have seen CBS's wiki, where no future spoilers were allowed. That policy is there to maintain the integrity of everything AR-related, particularly episodes that have been produced but have yet to be released. If you held a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows right now, you wouldn't disclose the plot and ending, would you? That is the consideration you should have had for the AR11 elimination list, especially in an inconspicuous form. (I'm sorry if I beat the horse with this issue and you have recognized everything I have said about unauthorized leaks.)

With some new (better) decisions made, and your continued efforts against vandalism, I hope to support you on your next RfA. Time needs to be on your side, meaning a few months (don't want to say definite numbers) at least should pass before I can definitely say yes. I take you as a good faith editor, and I do not have and never have had (even with the above) problems working with you. Just be sure that you enjoy life outside of Wikipedia as well as within Wikipedia. Outside experiences can also be defining for your Wikipedia career, you know? AWB v4 Testers Required[edit]

Hey, I was wondering if you would consider helping us with the v4 Release of AWB.

AWB has had some major section re-writes as part of the v4 release, and also a migration to a new diff engine. We need users familiar with AWB to help us out by testing it by using this version rather than the current release version.

You have been selected as you have reported quite a few bugs/feature requests in prior versions.

If you would like to help us out, please download this version of AWB, and then if you encounter any problems or have any feedback, leave us a message at the usual pages - Bugs, Feature requests or if its important, the Dev talk page.

Also, if you do choose to use this pre-release version, can you let us know here that you will be testing it.

If you post any bugs, please put version 3902 and SVN Rev 1151 as the version number - This allows us to know which version you are currently using.

We will let you know of any other testing releases on your talk page

Thanks

hey R, I am in the process of going through every mathematics article and assessing them if they require it. This is a rather tedious process as you can imagine. Usurpation[edit]

Hey, you made a mistake adding the template to Digitize ← WBHoenig - you tagged it as the target account having been notified but their talkpage was still a redlink. I've now notified them, but I've had to move that request down to today's section as usurpation has to wait til the target has had 7 days notice. Do be careful... WjBscribe 09:08, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oops-Sorry. Will be more careful (by the way the new template for showing the request is great. It has everything you need to know if it's usurpable. I just skipped one by accident :)) --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@ (Let's go Yankees!) 11:20, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't been very active. (See the message at the top of this page). About the review... basically just keep doing what you're doing, and participate in the WP space a little more if you're looking to do an RFA. I would say wait a few more months. The message is in my header, and I think almost all of my pages have the header so, it's kind of hard to miss it. I could be wrong though. --TeckWiz is now R ParlateContribs@ (Let's go Yankees!) 02:02, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your memory is impeccable as I did canvass some pages asking for reviews b4 (I don't know why in God's name I am using that AIM jibberish) I read this. As for the watchlist, I am currently watching it, so you can stop the GF spamming. Watch me receive oppose or neutral !votes — if I run for adminship — just because of ageist reasons like in your 3 RFAs (which, by the way, should have passed).
